It doesn't really work and smells bad
In our attempts to get rid of fungus knats in our indoor Dragon trees, we have tried lots of different things.Changing the potting soil, yellow sticky traps, washed the roots and also NEEM. None of these seem to solve the problem, but let me focus on the NEEM.We have applied the neem as a dry powder on the top of the soil and we have also mixed the neem into a solution and followed all instructions. The neem does reduce the knat infestation but does nothing to break the cycle and eradicate the problem. The powder has a strong smell of dried onions, which can be objectionable. Customers would not mind the smell if the product did all it claimed. We have bought two lots of Neem of the last year, so no one can say we haven't given this product a fair try.If the product was effective as the the makers claim the fungus knats would not keep returning.I'm told that fungus knat larvae can also be in potting soil, so changing the potting soil is also a roll of the dice. My take away from all this is that Anti Gnat Neem Cake Powder is NOT an effective way to control fungus knats and is very overpriced for its under preformance.

100% effective but prepare for the stink!
I tried a number of different solutions to get rid of fungas gnats on indoor chilli plants; e.g. nilnat (expensive and completely ineffective), an inch of fine sand over the growing media, (equally ineffective), yellow sticky labels, (effective at controlling the gnats but not addressing the underlying issue). However, within the space of two days, this neem powder was 100% effective and I've had no gnats anywhere near the treated plants since. However, it does reek for the first week after treatment, so bear this in mind when using it indoors.

Smells disgusting, kinda works
I've literally seen fungus gnats on top of the soil after I mixed the powder in. It does work to an extent, because we had our plants covered and there's only a few left and they've all been replanted with fresh soil but the rotten gravy smell will stick with you in the house for weeks after use.I strongly recommend spraying some hydrogen peroxide on the top of the soil because a white fungi looking residue will build up after use (not sure what the reason is for this but hydrogen peroxide fixes it)Overall not sure if the problem is being solved because of the powder or all the other efforts, but it might be better for outdoor use

Works but stinks
I used the product a little differently, I've had a heavy fungus gnat infestation, so I mixed up a large amount of this product and then placed the plant pots directly into the 'bath' to soak the soil and roots for an hour each, it worked brilliantly, the fungus gnat numbers drastically dropped overnight. It's now a few days on, and the smell is awful, at first it was kind of like old coffee, now it's more eau de poop, unfortunately for me, all my houseplants are in my bedroom, so I now have a lovely selection of air fresheners pinned just above my pillow for night time, and windows are opened during the day.

Avoid
This product does not work, also the stench is intolerable,I'm beyond upset as I had over 50 healthy plants that I have had for years! And this disgusting stuff has killed nearly all of them! The mould grows like wildfire! Even after rinsing as much out of my plants as possible the smell is still there and most have died, even my biggest plants are still fighting to stay alive over 2 months later! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Very Effective
Easy to use, works. After two drenching my indoor plants not plagued by tiny black flies. Has an odd smell, not unpleasant or nice , so I did the drenching outside and left the plants out for a couple of days. Will keep on using it.

Did not work for fungus gnats
Did not work to control fungus gnats. Has peculiar smell when watering plants with it in the mix. Some plants did not like it.

Do not use! My home stinks and it’s giving me a headache!
I put this stuff in a few of my plants then went off for the weekend. I’ve come back to my living room stinking so noxious it’s giving me a headache whenever I go in there. I’ve scraped the stuff off the top of the plants I could and opened a window. If it still stinks tomorrow, I may have to throw out £100s worth of plants cos of this stinking, awful product!
