25mm (1") Dome Tweeter 50W, Black

Used as an upgrade to the woeful tweeter in a cheap Auna branded centre speaker, the difference in voice clarity is astonishing!

I bought some Kef Cresta 1's on ebay, but one of the silk-dome tweeters has failed (you can tell because the dome has dimples and the sound is not good). I believe this to be a common problem among second hand Cresta's. So I'm looking for a cost-effective replacement 25mm 8 Ohm. Bearing in mind that there's little point in paying more than the 2nd hand value of the original speakers £20 - £30. There aren't many options, but I thought I would try these because of the attractive price.One tweeter arrived with cracked plastic, but I did not mind as I did not need it - I used the casing from the Kef to fit it easily into the speaker cabinet. The tweeter magnet is thick (about 15mm) and does not have a lip at the front, so I had to secure it into the casing with two rubber bands.For me, the sound quality is not close to the original Kef tweeter, and it is too noticeable. It Lacks high frequency detail and sweetness and sounds more like a 1940's radio (lot's of mid but not enough high). I put my hand over the bass speaker to concentrate just on the tweeter. Of course this is just my subjective experience.If you're not too fussy and just want cheap working tweeters, then these will do. Seems like solid build quality.
