I'd never used one of these devices before but I was working on a project that involves sending DC power over coax cabling and needed something to act as an adjustable load for my testing. This unit did exactly what I needed it to. The menus were fairly easy to figure out, and I liked that it gives you the flexibility to program a constant (or timed) voltage load, amperage load, or power (wattage) load. The screen is nice and bright and easy to read and the fan for dissipating heat during testing is reasonably quiet. I'm going to create a 3D printed enclosure for the circuit board since I'm not a fan of it being exposed but otherwise I have no reservations about recommending this model to anyone shopping around for a new DC load tester.

I really like these load testers- very helpful in assessing batteries ACTUAL performance. There is an accessory that I’ve seen in use but cannot locate for sale that is a daughter board kind of arrangement that has common smaller battery sockets (AA, 18650, etc.) that would round this out perfectly. In any case, highly recommended.

It worked fine in my initial two battery tests. Then, it completely died. Screen won't come on, nothing.

I bought this unit to test the heavy duty batteries on my power tools. Despite the instructions being almost useless, with a bit of sleuthing on the internet, you can figure it out. It allowed me to (for example) set a 2Ah continuous load for testing my 56V EGO mower batteries to determine how rapidly they decay and then compare that output to OEM batteries. It was very instructive, helped me identify those "generic" batteries being sold at "bargain" prices that greatly underperformed their advertised capacity ratings. It's worth the purchase but if you aren't electrically handy, may be a challenge.

So I have been using this for a while now and it does its job very well. It is also useful to purposely discharge malfunctioning batteries before dropping off for recycling. My only complaint is about the app. The scale of the graph is not adjustable. So if you are using this for low voltage loads, say 5v the graph on the app is useless. It would be nice to be able to select the scale or zoom in the graph to lower voltage and or power settings.
