ElekTek 100mm Light Fitting Lamp Kit with Strap Bracket with Hook

I’m a 55 yr old woman and this was no problem to install with help from my son to pass parts to me. Good instructions and looks great. Took the weight of my antique glass shade no problem.

These work well but be aware that the weight of your lamp will still be taken by the two screws that go through your existing rose - so be sure they are up to the job. You just remove the two screws, slide the bracket under thse rose, put the screws back in, then wire in the cable for the light.If you have a ready-wired light fitting, you end up having to hold the whole kit and caboodle in the air (1) while you wire it up and (2) while fiddling around trying to in screw in two the little brass thumb-screws that hold the cover onto the bracket. Having someone to help at that stage makes it a lot easier.And finally, getting electrocuted and then breaking your arm falling off a ladder is never clever so all you people buying old chandeliers with brass fittings and no earth - please add an earth core to your cable. You can buy replacement brass lamp holders with a tag to screw an earth onto. Please be careful and get advice/help if in doubt.

A really well designed piece of kit. I liked how easy it was to install with the brake out point on the fixing plate you don’t need to play with the house electrics. It took about half an hour to install. The most fiddly bit was getting the two mounting screws in to hold the cover. Looks great, good finish. Well done.

If I could give this 10 stars I would - it's saved me so much hassle. We purchased a heavy pendant light from 'notonthehighstreet' which came with terrible fittings; they wouldn't accept a return and we've been stuck looking for something that matches, is strong enough to hold the pendant, and crucially, has enough room for the cables.Most of these fittings have room for 2 wires, but in most UK houses the lights are on a loop and can have up to 12 wires inside! This solves the issue by simply fitting over the existing rose; what could be easier. It's totally stress free to install, you just loosen the existing rose a fraction, slide it under, screw it in and you're done. It comes with a few fittings such as a hook.

Did not expect much , even though the price was a little high. However, this is a very robust, high quality item , well designed and does the job with confidence. Acquired additional chain to support a heavy lampshade , and all looks and works well .

This was a great replacement for the ugly white ceiling rose in my sitting room. All I had to do was loosen the mounting screws from the complex looking terminal plate underneath the existing rose and slide the metal bracket in place, the new decorative rose then sat over the existing wiring without me having to employ an electrician - great!

Item as described but you need very small fingers to attach the cover to the anchor bar on the ceiling would be much easier with small screws like similar products up a ladder lining up holes holding cover and using fingers to attach cover is a bad design requires two people up ladders with small hands !!!!!
