Great movie with a lot of eggs in Hindu culture
We are just seeing this movie, rented on Amazon on 3/4/25. We had no idea Wakanda Forever was released in 2022? We are three years late. Over the past few hours we watched this movie to see if we missed some key points.Interesting points:1) The opening scene of King T'Challah's funeral was very touching and a wonderful way for those inspired by Chadwick to show it on film. Followed by: 2) The beautifully artistic way Chadwick was weaved into the Marvel Studios Logo.2) Shuri ascending the throne on her own terms. Example: Drinking the heart shaped herb was performed in her lab without the ritualistic traditional process. What struck us as very strange:The Hindu aspect of the film1) We didn't know the Jbahari worshipped Lord Hanuman. We did some research and found that the movies release in India has Lord Hanuman's name removed from that scene @1 hr 30mins.That is the most ridiculous thing we've ever heard. Lord Hanuman is a beautiful portrait of how devotion and loyalty can transform any living being and become their super power. There's no such thing as Hindu gods, Christian gods, etc. Lord Hanuman has worshippers and followers not only in India, but around the world. Everyone is aware of that. The Jbahari's worshipped Lord Hanuman because of their physical strength and mountainous lifestyle. Marvel should have left that line in the Indian version of the movie because Lord Hanuman is internationally worshipped.2) The underworld people were blue. As in Avatar. Hinduism and Buddhism are the oldest religions in the world. Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, etc are depicted as a shade of blue in artwork.3) The Abayha Mudra. Again that hand signal is a used in mediation and yoga and yoga meaning, Fear Not. Lord Shiva as Dancing Natraj has that hand signal. One will often see The Buddha in meditation with that mudra. Many many movies are steeped in Hindu culture meaning they lack originality. Yet, very creative. We are searching for the soundtrack. Shuri exploring the underwater world accompanied by Con LaBrisa is simply beautiful.

PERFECT
I HATED that we lost our King T'challa, and what a wonderful person, Chadwick Boseman. He was so YOUNG...and so very, very talented an actor. HE also was a down to earth person. It is such a shame that we did not get the chance to experience him and his work for many, many, years to come. But, I AM happy for him NOT SUFFERING anymore. God bless you, King. Though we STILL have a great body of work, because, in the time he was here, he was BLESSED to use the talent GOd gave him to leave US with a great number of other films to see him in action.NOW, as for this installmentBlack Panther..WAKANDA FOREVERWAS the BOMB!! I am so glad that they took the time to do a tribute to Chadwick, and to explain the "exit" of our beloved King T'Challa, but NOW we see others have come to our, beautiful, peaceful country and they were NOT playing.. lol SOOOO MUCH exciting and thrilling fight scenes.... the NEW NEW technology from our little genius sister, and the way she was able to recreate the flower/herb that healed and kept The Black Panther able to fight and carry on the tradition and protections, fighting the good fight all these many, many years, if not centuries. I LOVED the "Atlantis like" underwater kingdom and though I could understand their plight and why they did not care for us land dwellers. I mean, afterall, look at how we have treated Mother Nature, in our own real lives. SO much waste, and our oceans' too. Oh and then Angela Basset gave THE SPEECH from speech Heaven about her son, her people, her sacrifices, and then her story turning the way that it did in the movie. The special effects were ON FLEEK, ON POINT, ON TIME, ON EVERYTHING!! lolThis was such a great movie even without Chadwick, and, I HOPE there can be a 3rd one, like the other Super Heros' were given. Have a tissue ready, just in case, and I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY THIS ONE!!!! ;0) <3

A strong sequel that isn’t quite as good as the first film but is still quite strong.
While inferior to “The Black Panther”, this sequel is very good. The film begins with the death of T’Challa from an undisclosed cause and his sister Suri feels powerless at stopping it. She believes that only the ‘flower’ that gave the Black Panther his power can save him only she can’t replicate it.While the nation mourns the passing of T’Challa, there are other issues facing the nation including the threat from Namor an underwater king after the United States tries to discover Vibranium buried in his kingdom.Big, unwieldy but still a terrific mixture of character development and action, the main flaw of the film is the absence at its center-Chadwick Boseman. As good as the cast is-and they are exceptional, Boseman’s performance as T’Challa was the building block of the previous film. Srill, the material is quite steong even without him.The Blu-Ray and 4K releases include a stellar transfer with terrific audio (though Disney continues to underdeliver when it comes to Atmos). The special features include an excellent commentary track featuring the director, writer and cinematographer discussing the making of the film. There are two featurettes that are decent, deleted scenes and a gag reel. While a step below “The Black Panther”, this sequel does deliver as both eulogy and a further chapter in the story of Wakanda making the national)n and its inhabitants more of the focus.
