Bosch lambswool Hood (Ø 125 mm, Hook and Loop System, Accessories for Random Orbit Sanders)

The Bosch lambswool polishing hood is the best that I have used so far. Other makes I have used have not lasted for more than one use and have fallen apart but the Bosch hood is well made with secure stitching holding the hood together and the hook & loop backing works well and the hood is easy to wash and looks as new even after a couple of uses.

I purchased this to use on my Bosch PEX 400 AE, but it will work on any 125mm sander with a hook & loop system. I used this as the final stage for high gloss polishing on my car, once all fine scratches and blemishes were removed with a felt/sponge polish pad. It works great, and the lambswool seems to be of reasonable quality and is about 13mm thick. However, it's very hard to justify the high price for what is literally a circular piece of lambswool with some felt backing sewn on. It would cost Bosch a small fraction of the asking price to manufacture it. If you or your partner has a sewing machine, it would be very simple to make these things. But it is of reasonable quality and works well. A word of caution, when polishing don't use a high speed as it will heat up too much and burn the wax or compound and ruin the finish. Having used the 125mm velcro-backed polishing sponge, I needed a product to use with my Bosch orbital sander that would provide that factory gleam to my paintwork - this lambswool bonnet does the trick very nicely. It's good quality, so doesn't constantly shed threads; it buffs very well & very quickly. I can't recommend this product enough.

Good quality with hook and loop pad on the back to secure it in place. Buff kitchen flooring and wooden floors to remove minor scuff marks. Haven’t put it through the wash yet, but it looks like it will be durable.

I hadn't used one of these before but I'm a convert now. It really adds a noticeable extra sheen and smoothness to a finish. It's also great just for polishing furniture table tops to a better shine than just using a duster and polish.

I thought this might be a game changer. I might be using it wrong but I found that it saturated with product so quickly that it just produced smudges rather than polishing the car. You would probably need quite a few to get through all the panels on an average size car. It did wash well in the washing machine and it's adhesion to the sander was good.
