Received this today and I couldn't be happier. The tone is sweet and mellow and to me (although I haven't been playing very long and still have some trouble with playing higher notes) it sounds great. The ocarina itself is pretty and aesthetically pleasing and the beaded strap an bag are nice additions to this piece. The only quibble I have is the booklet that comes with it. Although the instructions and information are easy to read it's all printed via a power-point presentation sheet and it makes the song tabs themselves pretty small and it's a little hard to see the notes.I would defiantly recommend OcarinaWind and would probably buy from them again.

Love this, my little learner ocarina. Usually I play flute and recorder and was pleasantly surprised the sound quality and pitch good for price.

Great ocarina. Bought as my first and has done me well so far! A little heavy but as it is of a strong, good-quality material I can't complain!

Lovely ocarina. My son has hardly put it down since he got it and can now play several tunes. I would suggest an ocarina music book to give more scope to a beginner though.

I would love to give this 5 stars - it is easy to play, has a beautiful sound, it looks beautiful, it has a lovely decorative neck strap, the smooth strap hole in the ocarina body is much nicer than my much more expensive German one (a sharpish metal loop embedded in the pottery), I love the slight bonfire smell created by the straw firing, and lastly the slight "grippy" surface lacquer, (my other oc. is a bit slippery) - BUT, I bought it for doing a solo in one band repertoire song, and try as I have with different fingerings, it just isn't in tune with everyone else, ie it isn't in the key of C, as advertised. I did query this with Ocarina Wind, but the reply was that because it is hand made, few are in tune. So I didn't think it was worth returning, as the replacement would likely be off pitch also. If the tuning doesn't matter, it's surely a very good buy for its low cost.

Keeps my other half quiet hahaha he wanted this to take on a camping trip with our eldest daughter- the both of them loved it. Money well spent
