Get it for the job.
OMG. This was the only thing that worked for me. I spent hours trying to remove a hub bearing. I tried pb blaster, regular hammers, dead blow hammers and even a slide hammer. I was going to give up and take it to a shop. Then I saw this and literal, one wack, I saved countless time and expense in towing and mechanic fees.

Junk
I live in an area where the roads are salted and this tool simply DOES NOT WORK.I was able to remove the hub quickly by:1. removing a wheel stud2. Putting a grade 8 bolt though the hole (pointing the opposite direction of the stud)3. Putting a stack of washers and a nut on the bolt.4.Using a wrench to hold the nut and an impact to tight the bolt. (The the bolt contacts the backer plate which is supported by the knuckle. The nut moves calling the the threaded section of the bolt towards the hub flange.)This worked in about one minute after using this tool for half an hour. This marred the backer plate of the hub but it was still usable.

Just the thing I needed...
I used this thing to remove two rusty wheel bearings from a 2010 Outback. 4 solid whacks with a 4lb short-handle sledge hammer and it started to budge. 4 or 5 more, lighter whacks alternating up and down and the bearing/hub/shroud assembly popped out. It could have been a LOT worse. Having watched nearly all the horror-show youtube videos from hapless rust-belt Subaru mechanics, I didn't know what to expect - this car has spent 14+ years mostly in salt-free southern California, although there was a 2-year stint in the middle in STL, MO and we definitely drove it around during the icy/slushy seasons. One bearing was significantly rustier than the other but it was no match for this tool. As others have mentioned, it DOES NOT come with the M12x1.25 nuts required for Subaru wheel studs, so be prepared to source those elsewhere. Don't use your lug nuts, they might not be deep enough and you may damage them.

Absolutely indespensable!
Changing the front wheel bearings on a 2010 outback that spent it's life in NJ before ending up in the south. Watched a YouTube video of someone using one of these and I bought it before I even began the job.The tool came with an assortment of nuts to go over the wheel studs. Unfortunately there are no M12x1.25 nuts. Had to run to the hardware store for that but I can't really expect that they would send every single nut for every car.I bolted this on after removing the badly rusted screws. I put the shock absorber pads on the strike plates and began taping. Tapping turned to harder and harder swings until I was beating it like it stole my weed. Had to use a pry bar to persuade it a bit more but it finally came out. The rubber pads are a mushy mess now but I don't think I would have been able to do this in a reasonable period of time without this tool.If you have to change a wheel bearings on a vehicle with rusty spindles, just spend the money and buy this or you'll be heating and beating for hours.

Works awesome and well worth the money!! 💰
The media could not be loaded. 5 stars just isn’t enough!! I replaced both front hub assemblies on our 2013 ford flex and it worked like a charm!! The hubs were really seized in there from the rust up here in the northern part of the country and it still made the job easier. I really wasn’t so sure about it but after reading the reviews I decided to go with it and am I’m happy I did! I personally felt that if you install the padding that comes with it the blow from the hammer just sort of bounces of but the blows end up tearing the padding off anyways. The washers that come with it seem a bit weak but other than that the tool works great! The hooks and gloves are also nice which I used the hooks and it made it easier to keep the caliper out of the way.So if you need a tool to remove the hub assembly I say go for it!! Pair this tool with some PB blaster and you’re all set👍

Didn’t fit.
Three star for not fitting.Didn’t work on my 2018 highlander. My lug nut studs arnt long enough to get tool nuts on. I could barely grab some thread. Tool flange is too thick. Bummer. I’m sure it works great if u can bolt it to your hub.
