Children's Intro to Yule: An Illustrated Guide (The Wheel of the Year Series)

Really small!
I thought this was going to be a little book similar to the Lewellyn's Sabbat Essentials but for kids, but it is just an illustrated kids book about Yule. It's also a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It's still a good book, it's just not what I was expecting.

Not what I expected
There's not an actual story. It's more of a hey come follow me today experience. I was looking for something my littles could learn and relate to. This would be good for older children, but I wouldn't recommend for younger kids. It also feels very generic without explaining much history. It was okay, but I was expecting more based on the description.

Exactly as described
This book is EXACTLY as it's described by the author on the back cover and in the description above...it's an illustrated guide to the holiday! This book takes the inclusive approach of sharing traditions, activities, foods, and animals celebrated on this day, in a conversational come-with-me narration. The imagery is out of this world!

Tiny book size. Meat eating in story.
For growing number of vegans and vegetarians, there should be no mention of eating animals. Plenty of other foods to mention instead & most of our pagan ancestors couldnt afford it. Author please edit your next edition with compassion.
