Works really well when you don't have time to ring out and notch down a Hall
Used in a very 'bright' church where Mics needed to be placed in front and close to Power Speakers The Church had a history of being feedback challenging and initially the set up was impossible to run at volume Inserted the FBQ2496 between mixer and Power Speakers, ran the Auto Learn Programme (best done without others present as it is uncomfortable on the ears) - not a single piece of feedback during the 3 hour event You can't beat sensible component placement and EQ, but this kit works well and has its place

Does the Job
Having been in a cover band for 6 years we have had our share of venues where the PA just wont behave due to room conditions. The FBQ2496 is almost set it and forget and deals effectively with microphone bourne feedback. Since buying the FBQ we hgave had much more volume headroom to play with and few incidents of feedback. Its no substitute for high end gear, but in a system designed for portability it works wonders....

The manual and quick start guide are horribly lacking
To be completely honest, I’m yet to use this for gigging in anger. However, the manual and quick start guides are really really poor and incomplete. Read the review above by Charles Sorgie - there is more information there than I could find in any Berringher material or on YouTube. Including the fact that the unit ships with PEQ set to use all filter slots, so the most basic Learn and Auto modes won’t be able to work.

Turned out this kit wasn't for me, best to try and eq your way out of feedback That being said this is a clever bit of kit for those who want a quick and easy solution and dont have the time or inclination to understand how eq works etc

Why did I Buy this
Don't know what I benefited by buying this item. Still get feedback on stage. Makes sounds more sensitive. Does raise the on stage volume but as band already has powerful active monitors, extra volume was not really needed, just something to cut onstage F.B. was what I ha ford hoped
