Princess Academy: The Forgotten Sisters Paperback – 4 Jun. 2015

Shannon Hale is just a brilliant writer. Both I and my 19 year old daughter wanted to read this. It does not disappoint. I wish she would write more, more quickly.

I loved the whole series of Princess Academy, the descriptive writing and and the vivid details really makes it interesting and a one of a kind book. This book wood be perfect for children ages 8-11 who are interested in princess and maybe a little history. This book definitely deserves a five star rating and I would really recommend it.

Miri is an unusual heroine although possibly not suitable for early readers, as some of the issues are very complex.

Ich liebe Shannon Hale. Die Bayern Books sind ganz große klasse. Die Princess Academy books wollte ich zunächst nicht lesen, weil der Titel so langweilig und überhaupt nicht mein Interessengebiet zu sein scheint. Als ich dann einmal anfing, kam ich gar nicht mehr los. Trotz allem sind die Bayern books besser, ausgefeilter, tiefsinniger. Aber auch die Princess Academy bietet ausreichend Unterhaltung. Die "überraschenden Wendungen" in den Stories fand ich jetzt nie wirklich überraschend. Ein grundsätzliches Problem der Bücher ist, dass sich alle Gefahren und Probleme immer so schnell in Wohlgefallen auflösen, was manchmal die Glaubwürdigkeit ein klein wenig zu sehr herausfordert.The Forgotten Sisters ist meiner Meinung nach das beste Buch in der Serie. Die Story ist am besten ausgearbeitet. Allerdings gibt es auch hier wieder, wie bei den beiden anderen Büchern der Serie auch, Problembeseitigungen, die etwas sehr an den Haaren herbeigezogen sind. Spannend und lesbar und unterhaltsam ist es allemal.

Okay was honestly surprised to find out the girls in the swamp were actual Princesses that were cast away because they were girls. I mean no wonder the Queen looked so hollow they made her give her babies to another woman to raise in a swamp!Won't give away too much but I also loved how at the end they Made Astrid the heir and now there is a Prince Academy to win her hand.Also yay! Happy ending for Miri and Peder!All in all a great read.

I gave it as a gift

Shannon Hale is an excellent writer and grabs your attention from word one. The whole trilogy is excellent. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys clean literature.

In this third book in the Princess Academy series by Shannon Hale, The Forgotten Sisters, Miri is sent by the king and queen to hold a princess academy for three sisters, cousins to the king, living in the western province of Lesser Alva. When Miri arrives, desperately missing Peder and her home on Mount Eskel, she finds three destitute girls who spend their time hunting for food while living in a linder house in the middle of a swamp. A corrupt man runs the town and intercepts the monthly allowance sent for the girls from the palace in Asland. In this environment, Miri struggles to prepare the girls for one of them to be married off to the king of a neighboring land in an attempt to prevent a war.I had high hopes for The Forgotten Sisters and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. When I read Shannon Hale’s books I can picture the action and setting in my mind. I do not have that happen with any other author. The pictures she paints with her words are so beautiful, sometimes I have to stop and think about what I just read and savor it for just a little longer. There were a few twists, turns, and surprises waiting throughout this wonderful book. An excellent book from the first word all the way to the last, truly awesome sentence. Highly recommended!

Shannon Hale writes amazing fiction. This series is a must-read. Unfortunately titled, these books aren’t about balls and dresses but are instead about politics, friendship and growth.

Excellent ending the the series with Miri. Shannon Hale once again delights with mystery and intrigue as we walk to find out how these forgotten sisters fit into the whole kingdom picture. Not predictable, entertaining. If you enjoyed the rest of the series, you must read this one. Miri is a good role model for young girls as she is honest, has conviction, is hard working and does what is right. Highly recommend.

I love Shannon Hale and I have really enjoyed this series! This book was GREAT!! I think it was the best of the three. I never knew where this book was going and it was filled with twists. Some guesses were correct, but it was just an awesome ending. The characters are great and grow and change. The new characters are awesome and the swamp girls are a funny addition. The story was satisfying in every way. I can't recommend Shannon Hale highly enough.

I have read these books myself, and while aimed at a younger audience; I thoroughly enjoyed them. I have subsequently purchased the 3 "Princess Academy" books for two different granddaughters and they have likewise "devoured" the entertaining and absorbing stories!!

Shannon Hale is an engaging author. Her characters are multidimensional and her dialog is authentic. The storylines in all of the Princess Academy books are exciting and well drawn. These books are great for young adults as well as adults.

My girl has a book in her hand all the time. I got her the first two books in this series from the bookstore. However, they only had the third book in hardcover and very expensive. Of course Amazon never lets me down. I was able to get her this book very fast and at a great price. She's so mesmerized nu the storyline that she can't stop reading or talking about them!!!

This could have been an exciting story set in an unusual environment we'd explore together with our heroine. Instead, I found myself feeling bored and restless. Miri deserves better. Ms Hale usually tells stories that are powerful and engaging. Try a different one of her books instead.
