Attractive, easy to fit and use
Very easy to fit, I have little DIY knowledge but with a drill and screwdriver had installed this gate snugly in about 20 minutes total. It swings both ways easily, and snaps itself shut with a gentle push.Looks very nice and simple, but I have to admit I would not have been delighted if the width of the gap it filled meant there would not be alternating gaps-and-bars for the whole width (for reference, the manual indicates that you get a majority of solid bars for gap measurements of 67.5-72 and 77.5-82.5 cm, a central patch of four continuous bars for 87.5-92 cm and two adjacent bars for 97.5 - 101 cm ... If I can upload a picture of the guide from the manual I will).Note that there is some flexibility though: eg the manual says my width required two spacers and six continuous bars, but by extending it to the next level, omitting the spacers and fine tuning the adjuster I got the gate to look how I wanted instead. So feel free to experiment if your gap is at the fringes of the range. The screws provided were fully flat and so no issue with them sitting flush as others have highlighted. Likewise, not sure why people had to attach extra bits of wood etc to fit it, unless their walls either side were not remotely straight and in this case I think the product cannot be blamed. One reviewer said pressing down on the bottom of the gate caused it to unlock, meaning his child could unlock the gate by standing on it. I've tried replicating this, but the gate stays locked. My suspicion is the reviewer's adjustor needed to be extended further to better secure the lock, but this if of course only speculation. Finally, I would say it is quite awkward to remove the gate and slide it back into the brackets, so not sure how ideal it is really for grandparents who will want to remove the gate outside of visits. I would not want to be doing that regularly. But if you're happy with a bit of faff there, I can confirm the brackets alone (ie with the gate removed) are very sleek and don't appear to present a significant clothes snagging hazard.

Very good product but not perfect first everyone.
Negative first. It is adjustable to fit all door widths however if you don't use the side extension and adjust the gate itself there are preset positions it adjusts to and you can thereby change the gaps in the bars/struts which does spoil the appearance. If you are like me and want the gate to appear as in the sales pics, with uniform gaps then you have to use the side extension and adjuster. This makes the gate feel a bit flimsy and you narrow your door frame width by up to 4 inches and we now occasionally bang our hips on it. It will fit any door but if you buy it you will be lucky if it fits perfect without the need to adjust the gaps in the bars or use the side adjustment add on.The positives, and why we bought it, are that it is the best looking guard on the market. We are having our kitchen rebuilt soon so we are lucky that we can tell the builder the exact width of frame we need so we can use it without and side add ons or adjustment. In summary it's a good product and I'd give it five stars. If, as you've probably picked up on, a bit anal like me with aesthetics then you might have to slightly compromise on looks (or change your door frame width).

A clever 'Designer' gate.
Different to any gate I have seen before. It seems well thought out and well made. Reasonably easy to fit, but if you are fitting to a stair post with a protruding cap it is impossible to slide the sections down into position. The answer I found was to gently knock up the cap on the post until it was removed, fit the gate then refit the cap. If you are fitting to flat surfaces there would be no problem. In use the release is reasonably easy and the gate can just be pushed closed and locks itself. It is easy to adjust for width, and can be micro adjusted to get it just right. I think we may well buy a second one.

Great looks, practical but with major design flaws
Looks, Looks and Looks! Suits my house better than any white goods looking metal gates. Full opening, walk-through design good. Aligned spindles on pre-set locking positions ensure good looks. But that made fine adjustment of width tricky, only solved with extension bars and adjustable locking side (ITS). Mounting clears any skirting so can avoid drilling into skirting. It is very heavy and the tiny screws came with it can just about support the weight at full length. Broke straightaway after a small child standing on the bottom rails at the far end! Major design flaw! Broken for the 3rd time, I've changed to 6x60mm screws (>2x length of original screws) with full length plastic fixings into solid wall, hopefully it will stay this time! The lock side doesn't really share much weight of the gate, unlike other walk through designs (Baby Dan, Mothercare), which the gate latches and *sits into* a wall fixing on the closing side. This means active children trying to force open the gate is only up against the top screw on the swing side. The swing side mounting only has 3 screws aligned vertically, lacking any strength against levering forces when I'm using two extension bars. The weak mounting doesn't stand a chance if you frequently remove and install the gate (e.g. for visiting grandchildren). I'd say you need to replace the original screws with much longer ones with full length fixings if you want it to be robust. I would not mount it on a hollow wall.Probably deserve 3.5 stars with all things considered, but I'm very annoyed by the poor mounting design even though it looks great.
