Faultless 1 X Hot Iron Cleaner, 28g

Q: How do you actually use it? I have a steam iron that the bottom is pretty much all brown/black.

Apply some of the paste to a soft cloth and rub onto the iron plate that you have pre-warmed. I use it for removing sticky residues from bondaweb when applying appliqué, or when I've accidentally ironed something on too hot a setting. It does a really good job, but you may need to apply quite a bit if your base plate is very brown. Cheaper than a new iron though!

Q: Does the iron have to be hot? Or can I use it on a slightly warm iron?

I used it on a hot iron as per instructions.

Q: Would this be suitable for use on a steam press?

Hi, It would depend what the plates are made of...the Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner is safe for use on all metal, Teflon® and Silverstone® surfaces. Q: Can I use on ceramic sole plate

Dear Maria, We have contacted Faultless who have responded "Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner will be safe and effective on most soleplates, including ceramic, metal, Teflon, and Silverstone. The paste is mildly abrasive. If there is any doubt as to the delicate nature of an iron's soleplate, we do encourage the user to follow all instructions from the iron's manufacturer. Surprisingly good. Have always used paracetamol to clean in the past but think this is better

Works Well

This product works well. It's easy to use and it does work. It removed all the debris on my iron sole plate and left it looking almost new. There is not much to it, simply make sure the iron is hot, spread the cleaner on the affected areas, leave for a short while and then wipe off. The debris comes away. I recommend.

Faultless like it’s namesake

Really good cleaning power brought my iron like new again. Smells a bit but nothing you can’t handle. Easy to use good quality and value for price.

Excellent product: iron plate hasn't looked this clean since I bought the iron

This is an excellent product .. I bought this as I had dropped a hot iron .. that landed face down on to a rug ... which meant it picked up pile from the rug; this cleaner removed all the mess from the rug .. and much more ... iron plate hasn't looked this clean since I bought the iron ... very, very pleased with this iron cleaner.

Its a must have!!

This item is BRILLIANT!My iron had a big dark patch on it, which i honestly didn't think was going to come off so didn't really think about trying to see if it would, until I was ironing my daughters white top and it marked the top.It took nearly the whole tube, which is quite small, but it worked! I needed to fold the tea towel , with the paste on, to make a ridge which seemed to work better then being flat, if that makes sense?Anyway, it worked a treat, definate value for money, easy to use and quite fast too!

It works instantly

I don't normally review items but this stuff is amazing. I'd tried a few products previously but nothing worked. My iron was fairly new but badly scorched this cleared it in 5 mins. So easy, used an old oven glove to hold the cloth to clean it,came off in seconds.Would definitely recommend 👌
