Unglued Participant's Guide with DVD: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions

I LOVE how Lysa gives you the feel of just walking into her home & witnessing her real life & giving you valuable tools to help you recognize how you react & how you can take steps to keep from coming unglued in future situations. We actually had a 7 week study so that the extra message from Lysa on the DVD could be viewed & we just visited afterwards.I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 & here's why:1) The DVD was 5 stars & absolutely amazing. I loved all the video teachings & the extra message at the end.2) But the companion book was about a 2 star.This DVD companion book words the questions really odd. Some of the questions I (& the other ladies in the group) really didn't know how to answer & sometimes wished I had an answer key. We just had to skip some of them. Spiral bound also would have been much easier to use.The whole "unglued" set of books is the best thing I've encountered in a long time & it has changed my life for the better. Even my husband notices a difference in me. :) But if you're looking for a study it might be best to just have everyone buy the actual book (not the companion guide), read a chapter & discuss it once a week along with personal experiences.

Lysa Terkeurst has such an authentic voice in her book, that I thought this DVD would be a slam dunk for my Mom's group at church, however It came up short of my expectations. The series is set in Italy, which I found to be more of a distraction. I know that she can't cover all the content i the book, but the DVD glosses over my favorite parts of the book. Terkeurst is a beautiful woman whom I admire, but in this DVD, she comes across as a bit uncomfortable and a bit canned. I'm sure its not easy doing what she does. Its hard to have the package of being a writer, a speaker, an actress, etc, etc, but I really think this series would have been more enjoyable if it came across more relaxed- in the setting of her own home for example, or if her words felt like genuine reflections instead of a script being read from a prompter. I recommend the book. I recommend Lysa Terkeurst- I read all of her books- however, this DVD falls a bit short in representing a book that truly makes you feel like your sitting in her living room over coffee. I don't need to go to Italy, and I don't need a polished script to hear about her heart for God and her journey of overcoming the raw emotions of every day life.

This is a good study of controlling your emotions, but not expecting perfection. I enjoyed her DVD lessons. I haven't finish shed the actual book study in its entirety. This is a much needed topic for moms in the busy period of raising a family. I was told was given important council to hold onto the hearts of your children. This book will definitely help facilitate that goal. I would recommend it.

We are using Lysa TerKeurst's Unglued book for our ladies' Bible study group. We found that if you really want to get more out of it then you need the participant's guide as well as the book itself. We are also using the DVD when we meet every other week. This has been a great study so far. Much needed for all of us!

Just finished this study with my women's small group! It's a great study focusing on your raw emotions and learning to control them through Christ while understanding there will be imperfect progress! We watched the videos along with the guide. The girls really liked the videos- we laughed at Lysa's journey through Italy but we actually ended our study with an Italian dinner to go along with it! She goes deep and makes you think!

Instead of concentating on a Bible Characters life, you will study your own. OUCH! Can be painful at times, but very rewarding! This will change the way you interact with everyone you know. Very Positive and I am thankful I found this for my group. We all found it was useful in our lives. Lysa is transparent and has a way with words that is truly astonishing.Book is recommended, but our group just used the participant guide and it was fine.

We did this study for a women's group at church. We loved the way Lysa told the stories and her experiences, then showed how even she can become unglued. There are a lot of discussion questions in the guide. More than we needed, but it's easy to pick out and use the portions that best suit your group and time frame.

Don't love this study but I am not a major "unglued" or angry person. Not much growth for me from doing the study. Had a good time with my group going through the study though.
