I’ve been really impressed with the SMALLRIG P96 LED Video Light. It’s compact, lightweight, and fits perfectly into my camera bag without taking up much space. The build quality feels solid, and the adjustable color temperature and brightness make it super versatile for different shooting environments. Battery life is surprisingly good for such a small unit, and I love that it charges via USB-C — no fussing with extra cables or proprietary chargers. The magnetic back is a smart touch too, making it easy to mount quickly when needed. Whether I’m filming interviews, b-roll, or need a quick fill light, this little panel consistently delivers. A reliable, well-made piece of kit that’s become a regular part of my setup.

I was pleasantly surprised with this light. It's incredible bright when you need it and can also god nicely dim to be softer. The ability to change the warmth of the light is also perfect for whatever environment I'm in. I use this on my canon camera for when I'm vlogging or if i'm shooting photos of someone and need some extra light. I've also used it on its own for extra light source and it just comes in handy for so many scenarios. The power of the product is strong and it lasts a long time and the portability is a big plus for me. good value for money!

A superb lightweight, small and easy to use light. Easy to change brightness and colour. Charges quickly via USB C. Has tripod thread. Been superb as an Ebay studio light.

This little light is excellent, simple as that...but what amazes me is the battery life.. Says 100 minutes in the spec sheet... So I fully charged it, turned it on, set it to minimum brightness, dialed the colour temp to midway between cool and warm. This was around 10:33pm. Woke up the following morning at 6:45 am, still going, only half charge used, writing this review at 8:52am and still going.. OK so maybe their test was at full brightness, but hey, even on the lowest, it is definitely bright enough for me... Wondering if I could use one of the on my bike, so order 3 more. Smallrig make so very nigh quality gear and these little lights, that have cold shoe and 1/4 thread are definitely something, every photographer/videographer/vlogger should have in their kit...Oh and if it's a studio set up, they will run while connected via the USB cable, however could shorten the batteries life, so do so at your own risk. Excellent little light... Highly recommended

This is a handy, compact light that’s great for vlogging, Zoom calls, and quick setups. The adjustable colour temperature is a nice touch, and the brightness is decent for its size. Build quality feels solid, and it’s very portable – easy to pop in a bag. However, the battery life isn’t amazing, and it’s not bright enough for anything beyond close-up or small space use. Great for casual content or as a fill light, but not powerful enough to be your main lighting source. Overall, good value for the price – just know its limitations.

*So I’ve now had time to look into this more, and thought I’d add additional info and retract some of the previous review that is below, but essentially I now have managed to get the light to charge. I’m using a very old USB A plug with the supplied cable, this is the only way it will charge. I can’t use any USB-C cables or plugs. I still love small rig stuff but this seems very backwards! I’m not returning the item just yet…I’m going to see how it lasts and if the charging quirk is annoying. Purchased this light the other day. Came fully charged out of the box. For the price it looked pretty good, light output is great for such a small unit. However, it's very light and the build quality reflects that and feels quite cheap. Couldn't change the colour temp and the dimming only had four clunky stages. It lasted one battery discharge and has not worked since. Now it won't charge no matter how long I leave it and many cable changes. Quite disappointed really as small rig stuff is always pretty decent and well priced. This will be returned and I'll be looking for an alternative.

This little video light is not just good for video recording but also works for some stills and is very happy with this product.

Die SMALLRIG P96 Mini LED Videoleuchte hat mich wirklich positiv überrascht. Trotz ihrer kompakten Größe liefert sie ein beeindruckend starkes und gleichmäßiges Licht. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass ich die Farbtemperatur flexibel anpassen kann – so habe ich immer genau die Lichtstimmung, die ich brauche, egal ob warm oder kalt. Die Bedienung ist super einfach, und die stufenlose Helligkeitsregelung macht das Feintuning richtig angenehm. Für ein so kleines Licht hält der Akku erstaunlich lange, und das Aufladen per USB-C passt perfekt in meinen Workflow. Auch die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis top: robust, wertig und leicht genug, um sie problemlos auf der Kamera, am Rig oder sogar einfach in der Tasche mitzunehmen. Bei spontanen Drehs, Produktaufnahmen oder als zusätzliches Fill-Light ist die P96 für mich inzwischen unverzichtbar geworden. Kurz gesagt: klein, leistungsstark und extrem praktisch – ich würde sie jederzeit wieder kaufen.

This review is for the SmallRig P96 LED Video Light. Very nice light. I use it for fill in the day, and additional lighting when not in the sun. Adjustable color temp is great, and being able to adjust the light level is a plus. Fits well in to the cold shoe on the SmallRig Universal cage. Well built, and in general a decent product for the price. After having seen it, I would certainly purchase it knowing what I know now. Acts as a really decent fill... Battery life is surprisingly good, I used one all day, with it being on maybe an hour or more in total, (on and off operation), and when I put in on the charger only one light out of 5 was out. Took no time to recharge... Love this light. I am really starting to like SmallRig stuff!!
