MTX Trunk Bag EX

This bag SLIDES onto the rear carrier of my bike (you have to have the Topeak carrier, which I did already without knowing anything about this bag). Inside is a single space but there is a vector covered divider that can be deployed freely to give two subspaces.The bag does not obtrude in any way any saddle bags that you Amy have. My own saddlebags made by a different company worked perfectly well.The bag just slides on or off, so if you want to take it with you when you lock up the bike in public that is easy to. There are even nice handles on the top so that you can carry the bag. If you don'wnat to carry it, there is a shoulder strap supplied that will carry it that way/

The Bicycle bags seem very well made, and the system for taking them on/off the dedicated carrier is very clever. What I like most is the size. Not huge so you are not tempted to take a load of stuff which will be heavy and never used but big enough to take the essentials (tool kit, puncture repair, pump, lock, water proof, water bottle and still leave room for a few other bits. Topeak do two styles in this range one has silly netting side panels which will fit a comb the other opens out to reveal deep side panniers so make sure you'r ordering the one you specifically want and the dedicated carrier has the side extensions if you want the style with the fold-out pannier bags. So, why only 4 stars. Although the system for fixing the bag to the carrier is very clever it can be a bit fiddly at times.

Great quality and surprising how much I can fit in. I really like the MTX fitting - slides on and off very easily. The yellow clip doesn’t always catch automatically though, so it sometimes needs a push with a finger to latch on fully. Great for commuting and it means I’ve been able to ditch the rucksack on leisure rides.

Loads of room in one of these. There is a divider so I can put the spare inner tube, allen keys, repair kit etc in and leave a large section for waterproofs, pump, sandwiches etc. There is a open pocket at the end for a bottle and one pocket on either side which aren't really big enough to put more that a couple of gels in. There is a stretchy cable on top in which it may be possible to fit a helmet, though I haven't tried this myself. It comes with a shoulder strap so you can carry it easily when you take it off the bike. Fits the  Topeak MTX Beam Rack  which attaches to the seat post.

I would have given this bag 5 stars but took 2 stars off because the bag does not slide tightly on to the rack with the result that it rattles when cycling over bumps. I have made a temporary fix with strips of tape on the rack and this has stopped the rattles. Other than this, the bag is fine. Plenty of space and well made. For the price it is great value.

Strong very well made roomy, I carry spare tube some tools, Drone bag and water on the back, easily removed when cleaning bike.

Not as shown on illustration disappointed to find it was not the one i was expecting - The one in the picture is a track version the one i got was the strap version i nearly sent it back because i was annoyed
