Puss N Boots [Not Dreamworks] [DVD]

I found this extremely funny. The animation was very well done and the story close to Perrault's original. I have to say I knew from the beginning when the soundtrack began on accordion and kazoo that I was going to like it, and like it I did. It was very much a feelgood movie unless one made the mistake of rooting for the wrong characters, but in that, it's like Pantomime and as such, it's fairly obvious from the beginning who is going to triumph over whom.

OKAY PEOPLES!!THIS FILM IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE DREAMWORKS'PUSS IN BOOTS'.I THINK IF YOU GET THAT OUT OF THE WAY TO BEGIN WITH,THEN YOU MAY WATCH IT A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY.I WATCHED 'PUSS' FROM DREAMWORKS[WONDERFUL,MARVELLOUS,SUPERB,AND ANTONIO BANDERAS ALSO!]AND LOVED,LOVED LOVED IT.I AM NOT SURE HOW YOU CAN MIX UP THIS FILM,FROM THE COVER,WITH THAT ONE.THE 'PUSS' IS NOTHING LIKE THE DREAMWORKS ONE TO EVEN LOOK AT.WELL,OKAY,THIS ONE IS KIND OF GINGER AND WEARS BOOTS,YES,AND A HAT---BUT CLEARLY NOT THE SAME.I CAN SEE HOW PEOPLE WOULD BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU SAW THE 'BANDERAS PUSS' FIRST AND BEGAN COMPARISSONS--DONT.I FOUND THIS DVD WATCHABLE,AND ,YES,THIS PUSS DID HAVE SOME KIND OF STRANGE ACCENT[!]AND APPEARED TO BE A 'PUNK PUSS'[!!],BUT ITS NOT AS BAD AS SOME PEOPLE HAVE SAID,IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.JUST WATCH IT FOR WHAT IT IS---AND DONT EXPECT A 'DREAMWORKS' KITTY IN 'HIS WEE LITTLE BOOTS'TO APPEAR,BECAUSE YOU WILL BE WAITING A LONG TIME!!

Stylish and Brilliant, in the style of a true fairy tale, completely different from Dreamworks, Pixar, and Disney releases of recent decades. Takes a step back from modernist, cynicism. A Charming Cat, a Stunning Princess, and a gentle Miller's Son who is given a very special gift. I would call it 'off the wall'. It's just different from what we've become accustomed to in recent years. For me its quirky originality is like a delightful breath of fresh air. But be prepared for something a little different...

Its okay, for young kids, Im a adult and a big fan of Puss in Boots story, its pales in comparison to the Puss In boots adaptation from the makers of Shrek which I give a 5 star. The characters in this version are underdeveloped, the music is a bit daft but it has some funny moments.

This is not the film your looking for..... move along.Reason why? ITS NOT THE BLASTED DREAM WORKS ONE! (Not the shrek copy)I was in a hurry in a co-op, my dads birthday was in a few days and I couldn't buy him beer (blast!) I thought lucky that they sell the two films he would be interested in (the hobbit and what I thought was puss in boots) Thats going to save me time!. Sadly I hadn't noticed this was not the film I thought it was. :( Anyway he didn't get round to watching it. Then one day I had spotted it on Amazon prime (trial!) I thought quality. They got the puss in boots film! Started it and much to my dissapointment its some kiddy copy. Its rubbish for anyone over 11 but still good for kids. Only problem is what do I do with the DVD? Dont want anyone being fooled like me :(

I read the reviews on this movie and it is clear what the movie is and what it isn't! Well I haven't watched anything as funny and entertaining in a LONG time! My two year old is OBSESSED with the movie and loves the songs which are based on traditional arias!Amazing twist on a popular tail and very very funny! So not disney but who cares!

My 3 year old daughter loves this film. She had it about a year ago but lost the disc and was very excited when she saw I'd replaced it for her.It's not disney by any stretch of the imagination and their mouths may not always move exactly in time with the words but the story is fine and she loves all the singing and music.
