Travelpro just gets better
I used Travelpro back in 2007-2009 and they were already good. But could not match (to my taste) Briggs & Riley. Now, this Travelpro matches the quality of Briggs or brands like Tumi. Amazing purchase!

This is NOT a big carry-on that strains the size limit of overhead bins, especially if flying internationally or on a smaller regional jets. This is a "smaller" carry-on so know what you're getting! But if that is what you need, you will never find a better quality bag. The TravelPro bags will literally last you decades. You see flight crews with them for a reason. Yes they are pricey, but quality comes at a cost. You can rationalize spending a hundred bucks more for an excellent, well crafted bag like this knowing you will not be throwing it out after a couple years because something broke like happens on the cheapies. This rolls incredibly well for a bag you pull, smooth & silent. The bag's material is heavy duty, nice looking construction, top quality, classy. And you NEED those little zippered pouches in front for your ticket or passport of wallet or cell phone or other small things for fast access to, beware of bags with no small front zippered compartments, you'll miss that convenience. So just note this is 3 or 4 inches smaller than the "full size allowable" carry-on. It is the same width as the others, a couple inches shallower, and 3 or 4 inches shorter, so the inside compartment is indeed smaller than those full size carry-ons. But hey, sometimes you don't need a big bag, right? This one is for a short trip where you only need to take a few days of clothing...think 3 day weekend getaway trip, not week long vacation, and you'll be quite happy with this. You'll never go wrong with a Travel Pro.

This bag appealed to me for 2 reasons: 1) It would never be too big to carry-on, and 2) There's no way to overpack this. It fits the bill on both counts. I've used it for international flights and short regional hops and have never had any problems keeping it by my side. Yes, it's extremely small, the roller bar's interior placement makes it even that much smaller, but that's the point. The supercompact profile forces me to not bring any more clothes than I'll need for a 2- or 3-day trip. The number of pockets is adequate for me, and I haven't had any issues with the zippers or the overall sturdiness. I look forward to using this bag for many more years to come.

It's so sturdy and I've never had the airlines try to gatecheck it because it's so small and actually fits under the seat. The charging port is handy as well. The quality shines through the entire thing!

Seldom have I regretted a purchase more. A front pocket zipper broke the first time I used it. I’m traveling too much to take it to a repair shop, so I have to buy a new suitcase in order to have a suitcase while this POS suitcase is getting a new zipper. It is also poorly designed, with weird pocket and pouch locations. It’s small enough that they should have added a trolley sleeve imo. Flight attendants are like “oh hey the zipper is open on your suitcase” and I’m like “yeah I know. I rue the day I purchased this suitcase. “ According to flight crew, Travelpro is hit or miss, and oh boy did they miss on this one. It has soured me on the brand. I’m going to sell it on Craigslist after I get it fixed.

Great size - I think it will fit the 8x14x18 requirements (assuming you do not over stuff it) and opens like a "real" suitcase, so it's super easy to load. The negatives are that it is 1) Very small, of course and the roller bar takes up a lot more interior space than I expected - I could still get most everything in as long as not bringing a pair of shoes; 2) No buddy strap, so you cannot put it securely on top of larger luggage; 3) the side handle takes the space where many bags offer a cup holder - while you can put a small water bottle in the slot for the power bank, without the power bank, it will be at an angle. Front slot has plenty of room for an ipad, maybe a laptop, in front zipper. Other than the tightness of the zippers (might improve with the candlewax trick - but I did not try it), the quality is superb. It is a beautiful bag, although with so much chrome it's almost like it has bling lol. Not a benefit to be high profile/noticable if you are trying to bring two items on board. The missing buddy strap is the deal breaker for me (yes, I know I can buy a strap and make it work for another $9 - but that requires extra steps and keeping track on the strap), there are just too many very inexpensive bags out there that work almost as well (Verage is one Amazon option to consider - although not the quality of this bag).
