Dechlorinating Showerhead!
It is a great showerhead, attractive in chrome and I find the filter to be helpful in removing harsh chemicals from water. I have less soap scum build up on my glass shower doors and a little soap goes a long way. I have not tested how well it dechlorinates but I feel it helps and I am going to purchase another one for my second shower. I like the fact the filter only needs to be changed once a year. Easy to install and the water pressure is very good, it can be adjusted .

It works, but leaks...
I was skeptical about a shower filter, but the water here is horrible--making you feel coated in something. Ick. So, I looked into these shower filters, researched them, and this one was both budget-conscious and well reviewed. Here's what I think of it: PRO: 1, compact (not as small as others, though), 2, nice design, 3, easy to install--even came with the teflon tape. CON: 1, leaks at center seam (no biggie, it just drips in the shower), 2, lowers the shower head a good 5", so if you have a low shower to begin with, you will only get the middle of your back wet. You have to add one of those articulated extender arms to get the shower head above your head, 3, spits out carbon grains...when the shower is done and the pipe in the wall is draining back through the tub, you are left with carbon grains in the tub. They wash down, but that is telling me that the filter 'housing fabric' is breaking down--and it happened within the first week of use. I will admit, I have not "flipped" the filter as recommended by the manufacturer, as I am afraid it will add even more carbon bits to my pipes, potentially clogging them. All in all, it does work--and even "unflipped", it still works. It makes the water better, softer, cleaner and we are not left with some weird mineral film on us afterwards. I think it is a good product. July, 2012: After a year's use of this filter, it did fine--I never flipped the filter cartridge as recommended--for one reason, getting the thing apart (the housing unscrews in the middle) was like an act of god--and if it was that hard to unscrew, why did it drip at this seam? Weird. So, since I wasn't going to be re-installing it (as it would lower the shower head too much in a new place), I decided to wrestle with the thing and see it's inner workings. I found the reason I had the bits of carbon left over in the tub: the plastic mesh at the ends of the filter (a hefty little thing) had been torn apart by the water pressure. And I mean torn apart. Disintegrated. There was about 1/2 of the carbon still within the filter canister. Since I have no way of turning down the water pressure within the walls of the apartment building I live in, it was an interesting find and solved the mystery of the bits in the tub. I'd use this filter again in the right setting, but, unfortunately, I had to find a different filter for the shower--one that didn't lower the shower head as much.

Almost Perfect
I bought this product for the health of my skin and hair, and on those terms it has worked excellently. It filters the water, and I have noticed an increase in luster of my hair and skin. My only complaint is this: although it provides great, strong water pressure, it kinda hurts lol. I suppose I have gotten used to it, but the next time I purchase a shower filter, I will spend the extra money for a nice, soft, massaging one. This is really a good product for your hair and skin, but only if you can handle the slight sting of the water flow.

Works as advertised...
I can't believe all the knuckleheads who bought the filter unit and then complain about the shower head that came with it. That thing is a 'complementary' [read that: throw away] shower head and I just kept using my nice handheld shower head --duh. That said, the filter works great for me. There is minimal, if any, drop in water pressure because of the filter. I especially appreciate that you can change the carbon filter in six months or a year and not have to buy a whole new unit, which is a waste of money. I just replaced my filter after a year, and liked the unit so much I purchased two more for my other two showers. Until I can afford a whole house filtration system, the units work just fine. I'm not sure what all the whining & complaining is about...

Needs Better Threads
I live in an area where the city water is loaded with both minerals and chlorine, and so far this is working wonders at taking both of those out of my shower water. I've been very impressed with the difference after installing this. As far as I can tell, it hasn't had any real impact on my shower pressure, which is something that I was concerned about. It doesn't get five stars, though, because the threads where you screw on the shower head are made of a soft plastic. It was difficult getting my shower head to screw on properly, and it was very apparent that applying any force at all would quickly and easily strip those threads. It's also important to note that the body of this filter is a good four inches long, which could be a problem if your a tall guy like me. I bought a nine inch shower extension arm from Amazon to compensate for that, and that solved the problem for me. UPDATE: Changed the rating on this product from 4 stars to 2 star because the thread on the filter that you screw the shower head onto broke off while I was replacing the shower head. This renders the filter unusable. Note that I did not apply any abnormal pressure... this attachement is made out of a very soft plastic that easily sheared off. Although the filter does work well as a filter, this is such a huge design flaw that I would strongly recommend choosing another product.

I was really looking forward to using this. Unfortunately, the unit leaks even after sealing it, it continues to leak. I had heard great things about this. Wish this wasn't the case.
