Well made and beautifully carved

Got this fir my husband's ashes. It looks like a decorative 'ornament'. New visitors won't know what it is so are not uncomfortable. Didn't want an urn.Unscrews at the bottom and base slides out. Once ashes are in it screws back up. It us totally secure. No fear of anything coming out.

Very pleased with this item although the bottom could have been better finished. We added wood glue to make it more secure.

Having done extensive research on Amazon for a correctly sized wooden box for the internment of my late uncles's ashes - I was expecting a box with lid and hinges as advertised by other suppliers. I'd found this box which looked the same but was slightly less expensive. I didn't read the description properly on the site as this box is accessed via the base which is held in place by 4 small screws. This is ok and probably more secure than a hinged lid and it seems sturdy enough. Probably a little overpriced for what it is but then isn't anything that's related to the bereaved and funerals?

The Mother In Law now resides in her own beautiful wooden box so the Father In Law is much happier bless him.I transferred her ashes and had a natter while doing it. I did however use a little clear silicone around the edges when closing it all up - just in case!
