Great book
Bought this for my seven year old grandson who is the biggest dinosaur fan and he absolutely loves it. It's a big book size-wise so not easy to sit and read on your lap but crammed full of wonderful pictures and interesting facts. An excellent buy and highly recommended for youngsters all all ages.

The best dinosaur reference book I’ve ever seen!
Wow! First impressions are of a book much larger and more substantial than I anticipated. The illustrations are superb and the text highly informative. There are copious reference sections as well as the beautifully illustrated profiles of individual species. It’s printed on heavyweight paper so I fully expect it to withstand repeated handling and be durable.I bought this book for my godson’s second birthday. He’s a book lover already and I’m confident he’ll enjoy studying the illustrations, if little else at his age. On the other hand, I’m sure this volume will give him further encouragement in learning to read, with his parents’ support. This is the sort of book that will appeal to a young child but one he will treasure as he matures, learns to read and gains more and more from it in the course of time.I opened the book on receipt for a cursory examination but was quickly hooked and still reading it an hour later. It’s a pity there were no reference books of this scope and quality when I was young. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for dinosaur lovers of all ages.I’ll update this review when I receive feedback from my godson and his parents.

Quality reading and colour plates
Got this for my grandson, he is into everything National Geographic. He takes it to bed with him he loves it so much and we can sit together and learn about different dinosaurs and their habitats.I ticked the advanced reading level for this but my grandson is and advanced reader anyway, however I beleive most children aged 3 or over would get enjoyment from this by sitting with parents or other adults and sharing family timeFully recommend this.

The Most Complete Dinosaur Reference EVER
Bought this for my parents to give to our 9 year old for Christmas - both he and they were delighted with it. It was given an 'awsome' reaction from him when he opened it. It is well laid out, gives lots of information that is easy to understand - even if the aduls can't pronounce some of the dinosaur names - and has information in this book that wasn't in any of the other boods he already had.

Great book, just wish it was a current up ...
Great book, just wish it was a current up to date National Geographic book. Will keep my eyes peeled for a newer version, if that happens. My son is very happy with the book and loves spending time reading it. He seems to want to double check the facts from the book to facts on the Internet. I've explained to him that the Internet might not necessarily be correct, like Wikipedia and the book might not be 100% accurate. He loves it though and is very happy.

for dino mad kids
Purchased for a 7 year old for Christmas. mad about paleontology this was the nearest I could get (the book I really wanted to buy him is published later this year) But this was a great substitute. My husband who is a zoologist looked it over and was impressed. It is a reasonable size volume with good information well presented - so will stand as a reference book for many years.

great!
This book is brilliant. It has kept my son amused for endless hour's. He can't yet read and this book is his main motivation. I wasn't sure when I first opened it, But son aged 4 is incredibly pleased and it does satisfy his thirst for knowledge. It is a good starting point for any budding Dino expert!
