Works like a dream
So the PlayStation controller isn't the most comfortable controller to use. I have big hands, so the analog sticks often get in the way. This adapter allows me to use a WiiU controller where the Dpad and buttons are parallel with the handles and the analog sticks are out of the way until I need to use them (which isn't often with PS1 games.)Syncing up is very easy, just push a button on the adapter, then push the sync button on the controller. Once synced, the controller will sync to the adapter automatically when you turn the console on again.I haven't tried the adapter with any controllers except for the WiiU controller, but from my use, I don't notice any latency. It seems flawless to me, but I'm no scientist. There's an instruction manual and a USB cable for downloading updates on the firmware. The instruction manual goes through the steps (with pictures) on how to sync up many controllers, including various 8bitdo and retro bit controllers. The only complaint I do have is the LED is incredibly bright. I had to put a piece of electrical tape on it so it doesn't blind me when playing. This is a great buy for those who can't stand having bottom analog sticks, but still want the option to use them.

Had to fiddle to get Rumble to work.
I tested this briefly when I got it and it synced up with my 8BitDo Pro 2 just fine right out of the box. The buttons all seemed to be mapped correctly. I could even set turbo, or twiddle with my controller firmware's mapping/sensitivity settings and not have to mess with the adapter's firmware at all. No conflicts. It just works. Sweet. Then one day I dug out my copy of Metal Gear Solid for PSX and in going through the game settings before starting a new game, I realised it. Crap, I don't have vibration. The Pro 2 has rumble functionality on both sides of the handset with variable intensity for both, but through the blueretro adapter, rumble just didn't seem to work at all. After doing some digging into the project's github for documentation, I managed to find instructions for the web UI and a link to https://blueretro.io/You have to connect and power the adapter off the PS2, but leave it in searching mode (pulsing blue led) no controllers paired. Then, using a chrome browser with a bluetooth api, like an android phone browser, you can pair to the adapter from the webpage, and access settings. It detected a 1.7 firmware, and had a link to itch.io for a newer version. After unpacking that, I was able to select a .bin file labeled 'playstation' from the list and update it from the "OTA FW Update" section of the webpage. After a powercycle and re-sync it now displayed the new 1.8.2 firmware info.In the "Advanced Settings" part of the website, I found a section for the controller output and an option called "Accessories" that included options for Rumble, Memory Pak, Both, and None. It was defaulted to None, and seemed mostly about N64/dreamcast controllers with options like memory pak, but I set it to rumble anyway and saved. Red text. Power cycle the adapter, OK. Re-synced to the advance settings menu, and my change was still there, so I called it good.Attempting to use the MGS settings menu again after a console reset and controller re-sync to test the vibration yielded no result, but suddenly after toggling the game's menu option off and on again the controller sprung to life in my hand. I just had to fiddle to make it happen. Apparently the 'Home' button is mapped to 'Analog' on the dual shock which toggles the analog sticks on/off and also sometimes vibration functions. It's a compatibility mode switch for PS1 games made before the dualshock controller. I pressed the "Home" button and suddenly the vibration worked. Was the firmware update and settings fiddling even necessary, or is that all I had to do the whole time? I dunno, I kinda feel like I already tried the home button before and it didn't work... but maybe not. Who cares, it works now. The setting doesn't work perfectly for dualshock, which is probably why it's set to off by default but it does work. The dualshock had a 'weak' rotor on the left and a 'strong' one on the right that only got signals for on/off, and duration. Two rotors with different weights meant two intensity modes, thus "DualShock." My modern bluetooth controller has variable intensity rumble motors on both sides, but those signals don't result in a weak side rumble and a strong side rumble when activated. Rather, the whole controller vibrates at whatever it's intensity settings are set to, no matter which of the two modes I activate in the MGS menu, 'weak' or 'strong.'So, PS2 rumble functionality does work, but it's not quite "DualShock." It seems to work pretty much like a Dreamcast or n64 Rumble Pak with only activation and duration signals. There's no differentiation between left side 'weak' rumble and right side 'strong' rumble being interpreted here as far as I can tell. Still, I'd rather have it defaulted to on for a PS2 adapter. Rumble was a defining feature of the console after all. That said, I'm not even sure if my settings changes and firmware update were even necessary, or if the default mapping just wasn't super transparent and all I had to do was hit the toggle the whole time. Once I figured out that "Home" was "Analog" my Pro 2 behaved exactly like a PS2 controller. Plus it has turbo functionality. Also, doing that update and accessing the firmware were not horribly obtuse to do.tl:dr - generally positive review. Took some fiddling to get Rumble working with a 8BitDo Pro 2, but it works.

Love it
Works great used my ps4 controller it’s fine as long as there’s no pressure sensitivity actions in the game like grenade throwing or lightly taping a button to crouch.

Frequently disconnects
I’ve been playing with this for about a week now, and at first I was impressed and excited with this cheap solution to a wireless controller for my ps2 since I have plenty of Xbox/switch controllers. It seemed to work great at first. The longer I’ve been using it, the more it seems to randomly disconnect at random times for absolutely no reason. I changed the batteries in my controller hoping that was the issue, but same results. It also seems to have issues reconnecting when this does happen, which has been taking a lot of the fun out of my gaming. Every time you’re getting into a game, it’ll disconnect. Then I spend a few minutes reconnecting my controller, only for it to disconnect again a few minutes later. If this is a known software issue, please let me know. For now I ordered controller extension cables and am setting this to the side so I can comfortably play without worrying about controllers disconnecting.

Unable to get switch joycon to work
I tried pairing a Switch joycon controller and the right one keeps disconnecting no matter what I've tried. Updated firmware. Went to the blueretro.io website to make sure mapping config for Output 1 and 2 were set. Connected left one first, then right one. During gameplay the buttons on the right one don't respond unless you press them two or three times and it disconnects repeatedly every few moments.Borrowed my boyfriend's GameSir-T4pro and that seems to work pretty well. I was hoping to use my joycon though.

Funktioniert tadellos

Works perfectly
Really great device. It was precisely what I needed. No setup just plug pressed sync and now I can sit back and relax with my Bluetooth controller of choice.
