Worth every penny
This was a superb addition for my hobby work with plastic models. I thought it was defective at first because it is completely silent when turned on. I quickly realized that it was working perfectly. Makes excellent cuts in ABS plastic for model building.

Cuts supports easily but also melts plastic
A hot knife through butter. In this case there’s no “like”. The friction heat generated when using the ultrasonic blade melts plastic. It’s great cutting thin supports with ease but beware trying to cut any thicker plastic because you’ll end up with a molten stringy mess, not a clean cut.

Its great
Love it. Perfect for trimming and cutting my 3d prints. It was so quiet originally i thought it wasnt working. Then put the blade to the plastic and it surely was working.

Time and Quality saver!
Love this thing! It’s definitely not like cutting through butter but it is comparable to that. If you take the time to clean up your prints with this you can’t even tell that supports were used in most cases, and you won’t get any small holes left from the supports. It does have a 5 min timer to prevent overheating but I have yet to trigger it because I let go of the button while in not cutting and that seems to be better for the system I assume.

Not as advertised
I’ve seen a lot of reviews, some by noted modelers. This unit, at least not mine does not work as advertised.Beautiful unit, well built, quality shows, however mine will not cut anything. Put it on my thin supports for a print and even though I can hear the vibration kind of, it does not cut even with moderate pressure. It will cut if I exert a large pressure, but so will an average X-Acto blade. From what I’ve seen this unit should cut with little or no pressure.Perhaps defective, but I believe it’s past my return time.Wasted time and money in my case and sadly another piece destined for the electronic waste dump.If someone from Phrozen can reach out to me with a resolution I’d be happy to entertain it, and change my review. Thanks in advance

I love the sonic saber cutter.
This tool has made removing supports on my models an easy chore. It cuts through them like cutting soft butter and leaves a smooth finish when complete. I know longer cut and prick my fingers as use to try to pull of my supports and use a regular saber knife. Only I wish there were a few longer blades that came with it to get to some of the deeper areas, but I am sure I will be able to find some.

Disappointing, not worth the cost
I am an avid 3D printer and modeler, and kept hearing great things about this ultrasonic knife. I took the plunge, and I wish I had returned it while I still could. My experience has been quite underwhelming. If you're expecting to slice through plastic supports like a light saber, look elsewhere. It does cut, but it is slow and requires a steady hand, even for thin FDM material. I have yet to encounter an instance when using my trusty sprue cutters wouldn't have yielded the same result (often faster). To make matters worse, the on button (which you need to keep pressed to activate the knife) is terribly unergonomic and makes the whole operation more difficult than it should. To top it off, the entire unit feels cheap- light plastic, finicky button, it feels like a cheap remote. Again, it works, slowly and uncomfortably, but it is absolutely not worth the price of entry.

If first you don't succeed, at least customer support is prompt.
Initial Review:This item worked for exactly 3 minutes before it died in a puff of smoke. From the point it was plugged in until it did not work anymore was just 3 minutes. It was used on a failed model from the printer for a bit of practice, but less than 15 seconds after starting the practice, it died.Update:Phrozen was back to me within 24 hours of posting the initial review. They were very good about getting the information needed, and now a month after the initial review we have a well tested unit that is working well. This one came FedEx and obviously had been opened and tested before sending. The handle and system on the outside are well built and solid, it is comfortable to the hand, and does it's job well. In an average week our printers go through 6-8 kg of Phrozen 4k resin, and the knife lets us cut magnet holes and other changes to our models. If it were not for the initial unit failing we would give this a 5 star review, which is what the resin gets. Hopefully Phrozen has worked out the quality issue and you can enjoy this items as much as we do. Thank you Phrozen customer service, you are one of the best teams we have dealt with, thank you for standing behind your product and making things right.
