A wealth of information— get out your highlighter.
I'm continually overwhelmed by the ever growing facets and trends in marketing, and needed a book which could give me some common sense guidance for the new year ahead. This is exactly what I was looking for and as a result, I have a good play book for my next marketing campaign. I specifically liked the macro view of digital marketing and the approach to various mediums, including print in a digital landscape. Facebook and Instagram are still key players and the book gives you a good direction on where to start on social media. The "Tips" and "Remember" snippets are helpful too, not to mention creative and insightful. You really get a bang for your buck with them scattered throughout the chapters— it educated me in unexpected ways. There were also tools I have never heard of before, like helpful apps, podcast strategies and unknown (valuable) avenues I have never really ever considered.Quantifiable results is what I personally strive for and this book is a great resource for keeping me on track. Jeanette Maw McMurtry's style of writing makes it not so overwhelming and makes you feel you are getting a one-on-one personal consultation with someone who cares about your marketing. Great resource! I'm keeping it close to me for future reference.

Don't let the title fool you — this book is for all marketers
Marketing is a combination of fundamentals and context. The fundamentals never change, although periodically we need to remind ourselves, and we tend to do so with rhetoric that makes us think it's all new. But the fundamentals are the same as always. Context, though, changes a lot, especially when it comes to execution, which entails not only new ways of doing things but new ways of measuring things and new ways of investing in things. All of which is to say that a great book about marketing will cover both the fundamentals and context. Unfortunately, most marketing-related books are about one or the other, and often not very good either. This book is covers both, and does so very well. The latest edition is up-to-date on the digital and disruptive changes in the context of marketing while comprehensive about all of the core ideas that underpin marketing. If you had to pick one book to instruct inexperienced novices as well as keep experienced practitioners current, this is the book. Well-written. Complete. Practical. And cutting-edge.
