As a lighting Engineer, I am only too aware of the ill effects that poor lighting, particularly shop and office lighting, have on people. So many offices have the incorrect colour lamps in place, causing sickness and illness amoung it's employess, (sick building syndrome)! I have been using a daylight lamp for some time with good effects, but the lamps were unreliable and not that effective because the light output was poor and most of the energy is wasted in heat. I purchased this product because it looked to fit the bill! Well I am pleasantly surprised, a well thought out design, well engineered to use less electricity and the output of the LED's is impressive. The timing and output functions are a good feature, the built in stand is a nice touch and generally it is a high quality product. I've seen less quality products sell for twice as much! Clear instructions and no guesswork. Next step, perhaps a built in clock and timer device to auto switch on in the morning. Good job Trev

It is early morning and I am sitting here next to my new Utopia Utramini SAD light and can feel its warming glow on my face... I love the sad light and the fact that it is portable and has buttons for the length of time and the strength of the light; it thus offers 9 different settings with 6 buttons and an on/off button. It is perfect for the desk at home or at work as it is portable with a case and easily transportable... I think we all need more sunlight living at higher latitudes here in the UK and I have come to this light through reading about circadian rhythms and how they are regulated by light. My son is a health professional and he too has a sad light and has encouraged me to get one and the utopia one here was my choice after days of trawling the Internet both on uk/usa Amazon and Google. Although price was important, I would certainly have paid more if I thought a higher priced product was what I needed, but luckily this Utopia lamp is very sensibly priced. And the service from Redstone/ Cyber Products is as good as it gets... I only write reviews occasionally if a product is really outstanding and this one is...

Very small but bright and useful as a desktop light during the dark winter days or in a windowless office. Fairly good quality build and easy to use control buttons. You can adjust the brightness depending on your needs I'm a very nocturnal person but have to get up very early to get to work so I've bought this to help me try to get used to going to bed earlier. I read that if you use something like this during the day then have lower lights in the evening it should help. With other measures I'm slowly getting to bed earlier. I've just bought the Beurer TL40 Daylight Lamp SAD Light to use at home and find this bigger lamp better but this is still good for having on the desk and its compact size means it doesn't take up to much space.

This is a fab little lightweight device that im glad i bought. I was dithering wondering about the quality as it was quite an expensive purchase for me in my situation but I'm really pleased with it. It IS very bright, shockingly so first thing n the morning but keep it out of direct eye line and its fine once the eyes adjust. At first I saw little dots imprinted on my eyelids but now know better to look away at switch on but it would be useless as a dim light for lifting the spirits, bright is good, just don't look direct. It has 3 timer settings so it will do the counting for you while you just enjoy your reading or coffee. Its light and so easy to carry though the bag cover that comes with it is only a cloth cover. Great for storage but for transporting in my bag i will need to either source and buy a padded protective one that also fits the plug and wire in, which the one provided doesn't..the wire hangs out from the point it enters the device...or design and make one myself..but the device itself is excellent. Thank you.

Very lightweight and portable, but very effective. Very bright light, yet dimmable. Switches on and off manually with ease, but can also be operated by setting a timer. Inexpensive compared to many other SAD lights.

I’m not sure if I’m using this wrong. I bought it to combat, seasonal affective depression. I feel like I’m just being blinded by lots of lights. I docked it one star because of that. However the product itself is fine. Made from study materials. Delivery was grand. Everything came as expected. Edit Nov 2023 - it’s stopped working already. Bought two separate chargers thinking it might be the leads but no. It’s just not working at all.

The light was wonderful whilst it worked. However, I have used for about 25 weeks for about 1.5 hours each morning when I first wake. Today 30 November 2019 I was using it as usual .... then lights flickered a couple of times and it has died. The light has a 12 month guarantee which runs out on the 12th December ... so hopefully I'll be able to get a refund. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED as I have just bought 3 more of these lights and now wonder how long they will last before being added to the waste plastic mountain....

If you need or want to look at buying one, I can recommend this item. Easy to use, has brightness levels and timer. Comes with storage bag. Great value for money. I bought one for work with colleague as no window in our office, she found it and cost £90. I bought this one from amazon for my daughter who is struggling with anxiety and depression, and thought this could help her, it was half the price.
