Europe Chess Champion Electronic Chess

This is a very good chess computer for the price, I am used to winning at chess but this thing has beaten me 3 times so far. The only problem with it is the size of the pieces..they are small...and I have mistaken the bishops for pawns on a few occasions as the black pieces especially are very hard to distinguish from each other ..I am going to stick or paint something on thebishops to make them stand out, they are virtually the same size as the pawns and looking down on them means they look the same..see photos. Also the display is good but again a little small if you don’t have great eyesight. Having said all that, once you get used to how to use it, it gives you a good enjoyable game which you can pause and go back to. ....a quick addition to my review, used metallic pens to make the pieces stand out more and worked very well see added photo.

I think this chess game is quite good, and certainly excellent value for money. I knew it had chess and draughts so was pleasantly surprised to find it has 8 games that can be played, and the instructions are reasonable as to how to play them. Having read some of the negative reviews I'd like to address two of them... == On first opening it looked like there were no chess or draughts pieces supplied but upon turning it over you can see what look like 2 battery compartments and the pieces are in the larger of the two. == In general pressing the pieces down is not at all difficult unless the piece is not in the centre of the square in which case more pressure is required. However, lateral thinking - pick the piece up, press the square with your finger and then press the destination square with your finger and put the piece down again. Works a treat every time and with no undue pressure required. Who says you have to press it with the chess piece. I like the fact that by default the computer warns you if you're making a stupid move or if it thinks you haven't noticed that it's about to capture a valuable piece (you can turn that off). It readily gives hints and advice, and you can swap hands if you don't like losing. The display is quite small but I can still read it easily without my reading glasses and it is backlit if you want the backlight to be on. I think if the compartment for the pieces were just a little bigger then I'd go to 5 stars; so 4 stars is a fair rating. I'm enjoying this machine and I think it's good value for the money.

Bought as Christmas present for my husband. Brilliant chess set, really works well. He is very happy with it. The only comment would be storage of pieces, the space provided is too small. Not great problem as I’ve made him little tub for the pieces.

I think for the price and what it is, it's probably sufficient for most needs. This revive is about the chess side of this unit, I don't care for draughts Thing, I found two things to be hugely inconvenient. One, having to peer at the display, which isn't very readable, to look at what the computer wants me to move and where, is annoying. I'd much have preferred an LED system which lights up the column /row to indicate the desired piece, then press and it lights the destination. Secondly, the annoying sounds that can't be switched off. I wanted to play it on the train but you can forget that. The sounds it makes are too jarring. The manual doesn't indicate that the audio can be disabled. Just no need for it, back to starting at my phone to play chess :(, On a positive note, the pieces are good at gripping the board, and it's a good size to be portable.

Bought for my grand daughter. I think she’ll get a lot from it

Bought this for my 7 year old but it's way too small, it'd be too small for me as well. How on earth this can have so many positive reviews is beyond me. I used to have a full size electronic chess board when I was younger and sold it at a car boot sale when I was 20. What a mistake! I knew it'd be small but only upon receiving it did I realise how small it actually was! Don't they make full size cheapish boards anymore?! I've returned it.

Good product. Bought for my grandson as he has been playing online. There's a major flaw tho. The pieces are too small...

Un très bel achat pour notre fils qui adore les échecs, mais il faut souvent avoir un adversaire donc bon , je passe mon chemin n'étant pas douée .... Donc c'était l'achat adapté , alors son retour : Facile à comprendre Pièces adaptées au plateau Par contre dommage on ne peut pas régler le niveau de l'IA adversaire électronique, du coup compliqué pour gagner une partie et rester motivé pour apprendre Mais les jeux comme puissance 4 ou le revers inclus dedans sont top

Estaba buscando un ajedrez para un regalo y después de buscar me decidí por este. Y la verdad que no me arrepiento. Es algo pequeño pero para entretenerse de manera individual cumple bien.

Ho comprato questa scacchiera con poche aspettative vista la presenza di alcuni commenti.Mi aspettavo un prodotto di bassa qualità ma vedendo il marchio che vende anche prodotti di fascia alta ho voluto rischiare. Alla fine mi sono trovato con una scacchiera molto solida e di qualità. Ho letto alcune critiche riguardo allo schermo ma alla fine si sono rilevate ininfluenti per me visto che a me basta leggere le coordinate,poi se voglio un colpo d'occhio basta vedere nel display la pedina che lampeggia. Le istruzioni complete si trovano facilmente in rete in formato pdf (alla fine spiego come). Se siete principianti negli scacchi iniziate con il LIVELLO "Spasso 1",questo è un livello molto semplice da battere infatti appena accesa ho vinto alla prima partita. La scacchiera è piena zeppa di funzioni che vanno scoperte spulciando il manuale. Per trovare il manuale andate sul motore di ricerca più famoso e scrivete: " manuale millennium europe chess champion m800 it pdf ". Lo trovate al primo risultato con scritto IT. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è ottimo e mi sento di consigliarla a chi non vuole stare sempre davanti a uno schermo per giocare a scacchi. Quando migliorerò credo proprio di optare per un modello più perfomante di questo marchio visto che si è guadagnata la mia fiducia.
