Q: Would this work to pump out water from the bottom of a water butt?

I have two of these one to pump out the whirlpool in the garden , and one to pump diesel from a 200l drum into a four wheel drive , it does both jobs very well . Regards Rob

Hi there I would say no chance. It will struggle to lift water that high. It struggles to lift half that height. I use it to pump deisel out of a 25 litre container and you need to raise the container on a stool for it to pump efficiently. It just doesn't have the lifting power. A good little pump for the price but it will not be up to pumping up to any more than 1m.

Q: will this pump roughly 10m uphill?

I've had 2 of these - both failed miserably within a week or two! same thing happened to many others in the recommendations. I then changed to the Whale equivalent (the leading make used in caravans) and works perfectly. You'll need to look at the spec to find out how much lift.

Q: Would this item be suitable to transfer fence paint into my sprayer? The viscosity of the paint is about the same as oil I would say.

Probably yes but depends how far ... (will be quite slow feed)
