very good
really wasn't expecting a lot for £2.31 delivered but its really very goodin the workshop i use a belt grinder and various grit belts as required but when im using my billhooks i have a few hand tools to keep the edges in order as im working.a Draper 60306 file (£6.61), will do any serious tidy ups, (if for example you hit a rock and take a chunk out of the edge).an "Am-Tech E2300 Cigar Stone" (£5.99) is a coarse grit stone and it makes short work of getting an edge back into shape and then i use the finer grit Silverline 993062 (£2.31) to finish.the silverline isn't really coarse enough for serious metal removal and the Am-Tech is too coarse for a fine edge.for under £15 these three tools really compliment each other and let me take a damaged edge to a chopping edge and a chopping edge to a cutting edge with ease.

OMG there is no reason to not buy this
It's a quid, delivered next day (OK I have prime) and it's brilliant. It wasn't broken when arrived and it sharpens my axes lovely. Did I mention it's a sharpening stone for a quid, delivered ?The only thing of note is that it's quite coarse. That suits me because I already have a fine stone. It's fine for sharpening an axe or lawnmower blade or something. It won't sharpen things to the level where you can cut the hairs on your arm due to it's coarseness but to do that takes much more than a good stone - it's a skill only probably 1000 people have in the whole of the UK....I had been down on Silverline products but I have had several things from them lately for example some very large diameter masonry coring bits and all have been truthfully very good.Well done Silverline.A good sharpening stone delivered for a quid.

Arrived broken in half.
Arrived broken in half, I was kind of expecting it having read the reviews. A box with a bit of paper filling instead of the thin flat package woul have prevented it. Anyway, i need to sharpen some garden tools and I think I will be able to do it anyway.I have not tested it it yet, but it is quite corse.I was not expecting much more because of the price: a cheap sharpening stone that will be probably do a fair job in sharpening rough gardening tools even if it is broken in half.

Good buy
I purchased a knife sharpener that didn’t get my knifes as sharpe as I would have liked. Saw the sharpening oval ( for gardening tools ) and decided to give it a try. Very happy now all of my knife are now very sharp. Make slicing, dicing and filleting really easy. For £2.38 well worth it. Even my dullest knife only took a few minutes to develop a nice clean sharp edge. Use the same way you would use a knife steel on most knifes. On knifes that are very blunt use firstly like a file then back to like a steel. Would definitely recommend to anyone who appreciate a sharp kind in the kitchen

Works rather well.
Given the budget price I wasn’t sure how good this was going to be. But it turned out to be a real win. Cost effective and sharpens my garden tools really well.

Amazing simple efficient cheap product
Ok, so... I have crap shears paid 3.5 pounds. As you can imagine already a few days after being purchased they wouldn't cut a leaf.I bought this to revamp my garden tools, including the shears, and I'm very pleased with the result. Also, I really don't understand why there are so many sharpeners priced like crazy here on Amazon... everyone should have this product!Small sized, easy to use for blades of different shapes, cheap... I couldn't ask for more!If you're looking for something simple, plug and play, just buy this one :)
