It is really well filmed and edited, and it really gives you a good insight into Cobain's character, and how he interacts with the rest of the band. Not like the usual "hard-core punk rocking" that Nirvana is usually known for, this almost "Nirvana toned down" gig had me in awe. Being the last performance Cobain did before his death the month following, the performance really does have sentimental value. It could quite rightly be said that it was his "best and last" performance. I would also defo recommend "Nirvana-Live!Tonight... Out [1993]" type it in desertcart) which is an amazing put-together of Nirvana's performances over their career, including some interviews and some slightly humorous parts too. Review: Simply the best Unplugged .... ever!!! - The best of the Unplugged series .... ever!!!. It's what the Unplugged series was all about. Just listen to the cover version of Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night"... the passion Kurt Cobain puts into this song at the end makes this song worth watching and waiting for. No wonder Cobain refused to do an encore... "How can I top that" was his response. Cover versions all over but what cover versions they are. Great covers of great Nirvana songs too. I've been waiting for this to be released on DVD since '93. I can't wait for it to be delivered.

semi- acoustic concert
i already had the cd of this which i love but this is even better. you get the full original mtv broadcast plus the entire (unedited) recording, which yes you get on the cd but here you have all the inbetween interactions (priceless), also four songs filmed during show rehearsal which really adds to a feel of being part of the day. this is obviously a must get for all nirvana collector fans and a must-try for anyone who previously thought of nirvana as too loud/heavy for them. the unplugged idea really shows up the band versitility and that their songs are lyrically (as well as musically) so worthwhile and so much more than just another 90's rock group. the covers they perform are wonderfull and they really make those songs their own, eg. on first hearing it i thought meat puppets oh me was nirvanas, and bowies man who sold the world is the best cover version of that song that i've ever heard (and i am a bowie fan).

Seminal Performance
Reviewing something like this is hard, after all you either like a band or you don't. If you do like Nirvana, you will love this. The performance itself is legendary, and the semi-acoustic set up of unplugged, serves to highlight the fragility and emotion in Kurt Cobains voice. I have owned the CD since its original release, and the DVD is great upscaled on a blu-ray player. The entire performance is included, including the inter song chatter that is not included on the CD. Its not a traditional "unplugged" run through of greatest hits, there are some obscure covers in there, Leadbelly, the Vaselines, David Bowie and the Meat Puppets (who also make a guest appearance), but in all it just sounds incredible. Rarely will you hear such emotion as in the final song. If you like Nirvana, or even if you are just sick of the ultra manufactured music around today this DVD will go down a treat

Definitive - how unplugged was meant to be
Bought as a gift for my daughter...who loves the band and is younger (by at least 5 years) than the babe on the cover of Nevermind. I have seen this output before many times, as has daughter, but its nice to have it as a library item on the shelf. Not only do you get a different perspective on the music, but you also have an insight in to the band and the way they interacted. It's simply put my favourite 'unplugged' session. A classic and worth a 100% commendation.

One more DVD for the collection
The hate, the love, the music, the 90's,... Kurt Cobain, the legend live on MTV Unplugged! What else could I say about the new Nirvana release. Buy it! For all Nirvana fans this edition is an unexpectedly great product with both the MTV recorded concert and others like the rehearsal of the grunge band. You can choose amongst the concert, rehearsal, each song by itself and enjoy it. I recommend it to everybody.

A must have classic
This was one of Curt Cobains last concerts. An unplugged concert with some covers of other well known artists of the time. The show is very informal with Curt chatting to the crowd, smoking a ciggy & playing some of his classics. As fas a Nirvana goes, this is more on the mellow side, then some of the harder / metall stuff that Nirvana was known for...The quality of picture and sound is excellent. Unlike the CD, the live concert is uncut and you get to see the show from start-to-finish with all interludes. A classic worth buying....

A must
20 years after I'm 20 years older and old enough now to understand what a great show this was...and unexpected. Back then I was a Nirvana teenager superfan so I just loved the show. I still am a big Nirvana fan but older and wiser. It amazes me how good this show was. Maybe their best live performance? My favourite feature in this DVD is the uncut unedited show. It's closer to what the people who attended the show might have experienced, more realistic. You also have the edited MTV show but with the songs that weren't broadcasted in the original show. This DVD is a "must" on your DVDteque whether you are a Nirvana fan or just a good music fan.

Die Show: 1. About A Girl 2. Come as You Are 3. Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam 4. The Man Who Sold The World 5. Pennyroyal Tea 6. Dumb 7. Polly 8. On A Plain 9. Something In The Way 10. Plateau 11. Oh Me 12. Lake Of Fire 13. All Apologies 14. Where Did You Sleep Last Night Laufzeit: Etwa 102 Min. Where Did You Sleep Last Night, Pennyroyal Tea, About A Girl... Eigentlich alles :)
