I’ve worn Smartwool socks hiking for 2 decades, they’re very high quality, excellent foot cushion, soft and comfortable. These specific socks are well cushioned on the sole, thinner on top and up the leg. The rim around the ankle is more snug than expected, but they appear to have adequate give, and won’t dig in if I fold them down.

Fit well and very comfortable. I wish they were a little longer. Wash well. Almost perfect.

I really like smartwools socks and was happy to find some all black light cushion socks like these. I wear a men's size 9 shoe and although I am on the cusp of the M and L sizes, I always get the M size because I prefer socks a little more snug. When I put these socks on the first time I was actually concerned they were a little too tight. I compared them to my other M sized smartwool crew socks that fit perfectly, and discovered they were just slightly smaller. These socks are also a blend of wool and synthetic so I think the material squeezes back a little more. After wearing and washing them for a few weeks I do think they have loosened up a bit and I don't feel uncomfortable anymore, so it ended up not being a problem. However, I still think they are just slightly tighter than other smartwool socks so be aware of that when choosing sizing. Overall they are great socks and I would get them again. I love the look and feel of them, but I am deducting one star because of the size inconsistency and because they are a little overpriced for only being 55% wool.

I’ve learned that, with socks, you get what you pay for. I prefer socks with a Merino wool blend, year round, because they’re absorbent and keep my feet from becoming “clammy” and for warmth in winter. I also think wool blend socks last much longer than cotton; less likely to get holes in the heels. They are generally more expensive but worth the extra money. These are unisex socks; good for men or women. I chose the basic black color. They are my new “everyday, go-to” sock. They washed and dried well without any fuss. I will definitely be ordering more.

Its Christmas, folks. I know they are only socks but still, its a "surprise" for someone. Why would you delivery this in a clear, see-thru soft package. No more surprise. Thanks, Krampus.

Love the Smartwool. I have the same socks in a size large from a few years back. I purchased these in a large. The quality is the same. All the dimensions, length and fit are the same. But the seam on the toe area is oddly closer to the ends of the toes. In the pic new sock on the left, old one on the right. For $20 a pair somewhat annoying, i'm keeping them anyway we'll see how it goes. More inclined to find a different model going forward.

I use these socks at my firefighting job where I am changing into different boots constantly, sweating in them, working out, and doing heavy physical labor. They hold up excellently and have survived many washes. These are now the only socks I’ll buy for work. They are also extremely comfortable and not too hot during the summer.
