High-quality exerciser for finger extensors
This is a premium-quality hand extensor exerciser with a high-quality wrist strap and a metal buckle and hook. You can get considerably cheaper ones with cheaper build quality, including a plastic buckle and hook. Otherwise, it’s like the numerous other similar-style hand exercisers on the market. The wrist strap is a comfortable padded foam material attached to a nylon strap with large velcro closures that will accommodate wrist sizes of at least 6-10” with a firm fit. The sewing appears neat and should be more than adequate, especially considering the relatively light resistance of the bands. The buckle and strap attachment hooks are made of brass rather than thin plastic, as in some similar hand flexor exercisers, which should improve durability.Resistance is provided by five (one for each finger) 3”-long silicone bands with finger loops at one end and a ball at the other that you push through a hook. The bands are the typical silicone bands that come with this type of exerciser. There are three sets of five bands in three different resistance levels, specified as 20 lbs., 40 lbs. and 60 lbs. per set, which translates into 4 lbs., 8 lbs., and 12 lbs. per finger, presumably when the bands are stretched to their maximum extent. I got dynamometer readings of considerably less, under 4 lbs. per finger. I think that’s probably adequate for most people and similar to what you get with similar-type exercisers from other brands. One disadvantage of this type of hand extensor exerciser is that you have to strap and unstrap the wrist strap, which I find a nuisance even though it isn’t horribly time-consuming. Another is that no replacement silicone bands are included or available, so if one breaks you’re out of luck. An advantage is that you can vary the resistance level for individual fingers with less resistance for the weaker pinky and more for the stronger thumb.Strengthening hand muscles can provide functional strength benefits as well as contribute to hand health. Most people focus on exercising the flexor (squeezing or grip) muscles, which has functional benefits for things like weight training and racquet sports. But it’s also helpful to exercise the finger extensor (straightening, as with this device), abductor (spreading), and adductor (squeezing together) muscles in the hand and forearm. There are other options for exercising the hand extensors. None is perfect. The cheapest and easiest is isometrics against your other hand. You can use rubber bands, which also work the hand abductors and adductors, but you can only do two fingers (rather than all five) at a time, which is slower. You can use exercise putty, which allows working the hand flexors, abductors and adductors as well as the extensors. My favorite is the Pykal hand and finger strengthener (there are other brands), which is a one-piece unit with a ball in the center for grip training and ten holes around it for extensor training. There are also the small and cheap five-hole hand extensor exercisers from Pnrkskter and others that have a pretty high resistance. Larger 14” hand therapy discs with dozens of holes allow you to do all four types of hand exercises, but I find that the very thin material cuts into my fingers and that they are bulky and fairly expensive.

Four stars for now.
I play guitar, and well, I wouldn’t buy this if I was just starting out as strengthening your fingers is not necessary to play guitar. A properly set up guitar is effortless and requires very little strength. Dexterity and endurance comes with experience and time and what little strength that is required you gain by actually playing the guitar. Something like this won’t help. I ordered this thinking it would help my bowling as snapping the ball at the bottom of the swing does require some strength. So this device works the extensors, but with a little misuse you can attach it to something not your wrist and work your flexors instead. However, even the black ones were too easy for me. I even attached two bands to my middle and ring fingers each and I was able to curl my fingers. For extending the black ones were also too easy and I had to double them up. The pinky one slides down too far as I have small fingers. Also with only five bands each, when you switch hands you are going to have to move the thumb band over too. Including six instead of five would save time changing hands. There’s another brand that contains six.The bands and Velcro strap are well made, However, the neoprene? foam on the inside doesn’t feel very durable. But I won’t take a star off for that because I’ve only had this a short while. Will update in a few months. Hopefully this will help my bowling ball rev rate!

Great for all kinds of hand/forearm work
This product is definitely better than other hand strengtheners due the the ability to isolate individual fingers where most others just focus on overall grip. When using the normal hand strengtheners i am never able to isolate my ring finger or pinky, With this product you can.The only downfalls of this item is the lack of resistance and size of finger attachments. Even my weakest fingers are able to fully extend the black (60#) resistance bands. The description states the grey is 20#, blue is 40# and black is 60#s. This is extremely overstated. Have not measured but based on my other grip strengtheners, these are not even close to that amount of force required. Maybe it is calculated on the added tension of the group but even that does not compare to others. Definitely wish they had stronger resistance. The finger holes are also very small. They do taper from a wider bottom to narrow top but they don't fit on my fingers well and i don't have thick digits and are cutting off blood flow to my finger tips with use for more than a minute or two.Still love this but could be a lot better with added resistance and increased finger size.

Not sure if these actually work. Setup is kind of a pain.
These aren’t as easy to put on as I thought it would be. I wanted to try it to strengthen my fingers for guitar. There weren’t any instructions that I saw but it wasn’t difficult. I did put it on backwards originally but quickly realized. I’ll continue to give them a try but it’s just like any other exercise, it takes discipline! For me it’s hard for me to recommend but I wouldn’t fault someone for giving it a try!
