Robust and capable pice of kit
Excellent device, I've used it to provide a basic Outside Broadcast feed for a Community Radio station both using the single input mic on the XLR but also taking a feed from a small mixer which enabled wireless mics to cover a small live event. Works great with the Motorolla Moto E & an Asus FonePad as well as the iPhones.

Simple
Not bad, but the volume levels on the microphone setting are quite low. Still, for the price and size, it's is pretty good. Need to find the time to use it more though!

Not bad..
I've used this a couple of times as an alternative to recording with the in-built microphone of my Samsung Galaxy SIII when at band practice to get down rough ideas of songs as we work on them. I have tried it with SM58s and condenser mics.I have to say I've actually gone back to using the in built microphone on my phone - the quality of the recordings of a loud band in a small practice room aren't really much different when using this device. In fact, you have to play around with the input quite a bit to avoid the recording crackling or fluctuating in volume as the input goes above what the device can handle. It's just more convenient to get your phone out and press record than messing about with the Tascam.I suspect this would be a great little device for quick recording of quieter acoustic instruments or vocals at home on android or apple devices. Although if like me you are using Android you will have the issue of latency if you wanted to do any multi-tracking.So all in all, quite a cool little device for getting quick recordings onto your devices - just don't expect great quality if you are recording a full live band as you are only using a single microphone after all.

Great piece of kit
It's fantastic! I've been looking for an i pad interface for a whirl but didn't want to pay the price of the i track solo. It's really good small and easy to carry about. It's battery powered but I've had mine for over a month now and the battery still hasn't run out, you get a decent sound out of it (I've only been running it through GarageBand don't know what it will be like on other softwares). If your looking for decent quality home studio stuff I would definitely try this.

TERRIBLE
This product offers no live monitoring and has any previously record track bleeding into the new track.Completely defeats the point of being able to record one the go.Get an iRig, it's cheaper and better.

Amazing value
I've plugged a guitar & a mic into this little beauty & it works excellently. Hardly any noise unless you use a fuzz pedal in GarageBand. If you want to put down little ideas and want to plug anything into your ipad then this is the ticket. Well chuffed.

Nice compact solution
This works pretty well! I am comparing it with a £1k audio interface with excellent preamps, and it holds up pretty well with a good microphone. I haven't tried the instrument/line in preamp out yet but i'm happy so far

Useful gizmo
Seems to work well - I'm not sure how much better the sound is using it compared to just using the ipad mike, but it's convenient. The captive lead to the ipad socket is rather short.
