Product Description Starring David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, the first ever episode of Only Fools and Horses was broadcast 30 years ago in September 1981. The story of market trader Derek Trotter and his brother Rodney (along with their family and friends – Uncle Albert, Boycie, Trigger et al) would continue through seven series and numerous special episodes. One of the classics, this sitcom left us with memorable moments of TV history, additions to the English language and a series celebrated as Britain’s greatest ever comedy.★Features all the episodes and Christmas specials on 26 discs★ From .co.uk Released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the first episode of Only Fools And Horses, this is a box set that can comfortably be described as comprehensive. There are 26 DVDs included in all, which cover seven full series, and all of the Christmas specials, all in one set. That’s the entire adventures of Del Boy, Rodney, and the characters of Peckham, all brought together in Britain’s best loved sitcom. The instant highlights are the ones that get replayed time and time again on television. Granddad, Rodney and Del cleaning the chandelier. Del falling through the bar. Rodney’s wedding, the introduction of Uncle Albert, and the infamous outing to Margate. But the set is also a chance to take in the many other features that added up to make the show Britain’s favourite sitcom. Only Fools And Horses, after all, set a template for the important of supporting characters. Boycie and Marlene enjoyed a spin-off series of their own, with The Green Green Grass, but the truth is that the adventures of Trigger, Denzel, Mickey Pearce and Uncle Albert alone could have equally been given top billing. Often, they are. John Sullivan’s writing has a real skill in bringing character to the fore as required, but his ultimate achievement here is balancing a sizeable ensemble of regular and occasional characters, and wringing so many laughs out of them. It’s a family comedy like no other, and since new Only Fools And Horses episodes left our screens back in 2003, there’s been nothing really to match it. Arguably, there never will be, either. Because this is a show that brought together an unrivalled collection of talents, and turned them into national treasures. Only Fools And Horses also ensures, rightly, that the work of the late John Sullivan will be celebrated for a long, long time to come. And, with this latest box set, there’s little reason why the show won’t keep Britain laughing for a good few years, either. --Jon Foster

Got this for my partner for Christmas he loves this show 🙄 soooo much he's overwatched it to death! I regret buying him this but not because of the quality just because I don't get a break from it! Comes in a sturdy and not cheap looking box which stores all the dvds in :) looks really nice and it's a great present for an Only Fools and Horses fan :)

Don't be a dipstick all your life
Having read the reviews about the boxset having edits made here, there and everywhere I decided to take a chance and buy it and come to my own conclusion. The edits aren't all that bad and where the have been cut scenes such as "The Jolly boys outing", that was done because of the singer who was in contract with the BBC at the time, so that scene couldn't make it to the DVD release. Other songs are cut from the set because of copyright laws.Series 1 through to series 7 excluding the specials are unaffected and are great to watch in its nostalgic glory. With the specials, it is mainly "A Royal Flush", "The Jolly boys Outing" and "Miami Twice" that have major editing to them. The rest of the boxset just has some minor audio replaced with no dialogue missing. One thing that annoys me about the second part of "Miami Twice" is the addition of canned laughter. It isn't in the TV version and I feel that it is unneccesary and spoils the seriousness of the dialogue. The episode "Little problems" of series 6 really surprised me and that was that the BBC have left in Simply Red's song "Holding back the years" is still in place despite other reviewers saying it had been cut.It is easy to mixup the DVDs in this set so I bought some stickers and wrote their list order down so I could keep them in order in the box.The boxset, in my opinion, is really worth buying despite some of the cuts and edits in places so my advice is for you to buy it while it is still available.

Every episode, every special, represents the best of British comedy
Only Fools and Horses is quite simple the best sitcom ever made. There are a wealth of episodes that are just classic pieces of television. The incident with chandelier, falling leaning against the bar in the wine bar, Rodney pretending to be 14, my personal favourite the "Stage Fright" with the song "Cwying" and the medley of "wok 'n' woll". When I first saw that particular episode I was literally rolling round the floor paralysed with laughter. You can see Nicholas Lyndhurst, in particular struggling to deliver his lines with a straight face in this one.All the specials are included, and particularly in these there are elements of sensitivity mixed in with the comedy.I have various individual series DVD's and some videos presentations. But, I have some gaps in the collection. So I bought this to consolidate everything in one box, on one format. The presentation of the box is good, with the DVD's arranged with the spine colouring moving though the spectrum from red to blue. The practical side to this is that I can have a sort out of the cupboard that houses DVD's, videos and CD's.

Not the complete collection
Bought this in advance as a gift. Have just heard back from the recipient - two copies of Fatal Extraction/Heroes and Villains, no copy of Miami Twice/Mother Nature's Son. Not the complete collection then - very disappointing.

*A Fantastic Box Set - Well worth the money!*
After watching all episodes of the set, I now can give an accurate review. In my opinion, many of the other reviewers have stated of scenes cut from the original broadcasts from 1981 onwards. However, I have found that the edits are very minimal. The only episode that the edits are major is the Special called 'Royal Flush.’I will still give this Box Set Five stars for the content, and the price of this product. In addition, this product is very well packaged, so the discs are well protected.

One of the best TV series ever
Only Fools and Horses is one of the funniest comedy series ever to be put on television and it good to be able to see it in sequence at a time of one's own choosing.Of course the acting is superb, but the real credit must go to the writer, John Sullivan, who was able to keep each episode and special, consistently excellent, while still developing the characters and the storyline. A truly great comedy writer.

A Fantastic Boxset for all Fans of the Show
I was looking to buy this set for a long time and am so happy that I made the decision to buy it from Amazon. A good price for an extremely well loved series. I really enjoyed watching it from start to finish in the space of a few weeks (still had to go to work and do all that other "life" stuff in between LOL). A fabulous addition to my DVD collection and it will stay in my collection forever! Some decent extras included in the later DVD specials.
