Save the cheerleader save the world!
After watching the first series of Heroes on TV I was amazed at how brilliant a series it was. Great characters, great story telling and a brilliant premise. However, series 2 came along and whilst it was still good it was obvious that the series had lost it's way. Saying that it was much better than some of the other rubbish on TV at the time. The drop in quality however was enough to make viewers leave in their droves and what followed was 2 more mediocre series until the show was finally dropped despite a pick up in quality towards the end.Although I have said rather negative things above it is well worth a watch and series one is brilliant TV. So its definitely worth a view in my opinion. The new box set is really compact and I was quite impressed with how small it was measuring in at 17.5 x 12 x 13.5 cm (L x W x H). Each season comes split over either four discs for seasons 2 and 4 or five discs for seasons 1 & 3. Each season is split over two standard blu-ray cases, so the box contains 8 blu-ray's.The art work on the actually blu-ray cases is either the Heroes earth logo or a picture of the cast so not as elaborate as the previous releases have been with their comic book style designs. As far as I can tell all the extras from previous releases are included across the 4 seasons. The image and sound quality are brilliant and looks really good playing through my PS3 onto my 42" TV.Overall well worth the watch just don't expect the later seasons to follow the quality established in season 1, in what is in my opinion one of the finest things ever put on television.

Heroes:complete collection 2010 set.
This is the 2010 box set and contains all four seasons of the hit sci-fi TV series from 2006-2010 and contains all 77 episodes. Briefly [for those that don’t know the series], series one introduces a number of people who have evolved special or advanced abilities in a similar manner to superheroes, X-men or Mutant X. Each season contains one or two "volumes" with several main story lines in each volume. As the main stories develop, smaller plots evolve within them. As each character's story is developed their paths cross and we see how their individual stories are intertwined and connected. The strongpoint of this series is it shows the individuals coming to terms with abilites, not as in other series where the abilities are already manifest and known, thus we see characters develop. Gradually the characters start to form small groups as they come into contact with others. Against this is a secret organisation that seeks to track them down, but for good or bad? Eventually the Heroes realise they must stop a disaster from occurring or should they actually help make it happen? The franchise started strongly but over time viewing figures steadily declined, mainly due to writers strikes and scheduling breaks but series two does have a slower pace featuring more attempted romance/family life and was slow to develop a strong central plot, while the multiple threads of the first series had almost disappeared in seasons three and four.Despite the negatives, the series remains entertaining and if you have the patience to stick with the change of pace, the box set is a good buy for anyone who likes sci-fi, drama or thrillers, especially with a comic book superhero twist to it all. The final disc is a bonus which explains a lot of the thought process behind the series via interviews and commentaries with the production team and actors. A good ***** for a 15 rating.

A Brilliant story line with each episode following the last...
A great story, an understatement to say with "a fews twists in the big picture story line". I run out on many ocasions of hairy string to follow the plots and twists in the story. It gets to a point that you do not know who to trust anymore. This is a must for SiFi fans. But with every new production coming out of the states today this one too, has its dark side.I think I can say without exception every episode to the massive story ends on a (cliffhanger). OK so one has to wait for the next thrilling enstallment!!!!.....Next week. Of course not if you own the set box with all the episodes at your fingertips. And so as with Ice Road Truckers series one has to hammer the DVD player with fast forwards to skip on average 3 minuets of repeat of what happened on last weeks episode. If I may give a small tip here; Allocate yourself a set time for viewing either the entire disc presently being view or at least two of the episodes. Every episode ends with a nail biting cliffhanger finnish with the infamous words"to be continued"........... Stunts and CG's are up to par and beyond. Each to their own every body has their hero! "Hiro Yakamura" was mine. I hope this has been help to those who could not quite make up their minds as to weather or not to buy it. Purchase the Blue ray version as DTS sound is brilliant. Without giving away the ending, A lot of loose ends are cleaned up... but the story is left open!!!!!!! A bit like the film 2001 really, the directer wnats you to finnish it yourself in your head with the infamous saying " What If "..........................
