Very good book. Worth a read. Thats if you like these particular MA forms.
I for one will recommend this title to MAs practitioners because I find it does a very good job of explaining the history of Shaolin. Not only as an MA (Martial Art) form but as a vast wisdom source and general way of life within that. Thats only first of all. It also explains very effectively and in detail many of the techniques that are to be found in Kung Fu and Tai Chi. For anyone whom doesn't know Tai Chi is in fact another form of Kung Fu. The difference between is that Tai Chi is slowed down for health and wellness benefits. Kung Fu and Tai Chi in their own way historically find their way into many different MA forms the world over. Remnants of them can be found in MAs such as Karate and Jiu-Jitsu even. This title The Complete Book Of Shaolin by Wong Kiew Kit I for one also like because it is very easy for anyone whom is a beginner or just interested in these things to read and understand easily in what it has to offer in its pages in terms of useful diagrams and explanations of them in addition to that as well touch-wood. You still have to understand such moves from muscle-memory as well but nonetheless if you do happen to train in such MA forms then this book is one well worth adding to your collection of MA literature.

Great informative book.
Very good book to add an addition to your learning.Pretty difficult to follow moves from the pictures, but I love the authors writing style & it’s a great base for learning the theory behind Shaolin Kung Fu & life.

Absolute beginner, absolutely fantastic book!
As an absolute beginner to Shaolin Kung Fu, I have found this book absolutely fantastic. I know I will be reading this book for many years to come as I progress with my training. The book contains lots of information on advanced techniques, I plan to revisit these chapters when I feel ready and more experienced. I am lucky enough to be trained by a Shaolin master which this book recommends and is required for advanced techniques. I have found all information very valuable and as a beginner, has given me be a detailed understanding of Kung Fu.

Boring, badly written book not worth the cost
Extremely boring book, its an uphill struggle to get through the thing, and even then you'll find the info lacking. The pictures are very amateurish in the extreme and the text so dry and just badly written. Its a total waste of money and I wouldn't recommend bothering with such a mess.

I highly recommend that you purchase this book and practice what's inside!
So, you're interested in getting a better understanding on Shaolin Kungfu. This book really opened my mind from what I had previously believed to be Shaolin. I am a Zen Buddhist, who has long been interested in understanding more about the various martial arts. I thought this book might give me decent insight into the practices of Shaolin Kungfu, and help expand on the core principles of why it has sustained into our present world. This book very much illustrates that. The step by step instructions are deeply informative and have helped open my eyes to the connection between my mind and body. I've been practicing as I go, and I've eased into trying to improve on the form and force of the moves illustrated.I originally just wanted an opportunity to open my mind to the practices of Shaolin monks and masters. This book I feel has me very excited to learn more. I just recently purchased the authors book on Tai Chi Chuan in an attempt to further understand these great practices. If you're on the fence because of the price, if you're truly passionate about self-betterment and understanding more about the history, practices, and grandeur of the Shaolin Arts. I suggest you purchase this book.
