Seems to do the trick :)
I got one of these after hearing repeated scratching noises in a cavity wall and in the corners of the loft space. I inspected the loft a few times but couldn't see any sign of mice (e.g. no droppings or smells, no chewed cables), and just found an old disused birds nest. The noises became more frequent and one night I heard a b-bang, b-bang, b-bang, flap, flap, flap - god knows what that was! I fitted this device in the loft and turned it on full blast (Ultrasonic + Electromagnetic) and within a couple of days all the noises had stopped. After a couple of weeks I turned off this device and within a couple of days the scratching noises stated up again, so I turned it back on for a few more weeks and it's been quiet ever since. So this device seems to do the trick, especially over the winter months when mice etc. look for a warm home.

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY
i've had this plug in plugged in for 4 weeks and i'm not too impressed, there's no difference. I don't think i'll be recommending it, what a waste of money. If i could give no stars i would.

We used to have mice, traps did their job ...
We used to have mice, traps did their job but didn't reduce the occasions of mice being spotted.I bought one of these and placed it in our kitchen - we stopped getting mice in the kitchen but still had them elsewhere.I purchased a second one and put this as close to the middle of our flat as possible as we have not had mice since - not sure if it is coincidence but we have been mice free for over a year now.

glad i waiting to write a review
Product never did anything for us. Still have mice ruling the place and always see insects in summer time. And this is after using the product for over a year. glad i waiting to write a review. Please dont buy. I found the best thing to do was use pepermint essence oil which really got rid of the pests.

I would suggest caution if you have birds.
The problem I have with this is that it has done nothing to clear any rodent but we have Macaws - a Blue and Gold immediately moved to a panic position - another Macaw moved to an attack position - we also lost an 18 year old Blue and Gold but that was a burst blood vessel and I don' think it was in anyway connected to this but the parrots have reacted very badly and loudly to this.In my personal opinion, this is generating nervous impulses at non-standard levels, eg., too high - no other machine affects spiders and I think this is too high in the frequency as Macaws are high frequency birds - we have now moved this away from birds and swapped it with one upstairs that we know works with mice ... a pity as it is a nice until but when you consider a macaw can generated high frequency and 2 reacted to this machine immediately, I would suggest caution if you have birds.

It works!
I bought this last August and have waited through the winter to see if they work..yes! I switched it off once and saw a spider...whilst it's on no spiders at all..still touching wood but I can't think it's coincidence as I live in a old cottage.Since my first review, (above) I have bought 2 more (as I had previously bought another make as well but they didn't last) so now replaced them with the vermatik ones which are very good quality...definitely recommend.

it's huge, but is it effective? who knows
I've heard the rodents in the walls at their usual time of day since this was plugged in... they didn't sound too bothered, but we'll see. We've had a similar one plugged in the kitchen for a few years now and the mice haven't been on the worktops in there as they used to be before it was there - I can say that much, though I know they haven't gone altogether. They were getting very noisy elsewhere in the house at night, so I decided to give this one a try.I don't understand how the dimensions are given as 5 cm each way - it's actually huge, more like 5 inches in fact, and all flashing lights. The size is a nuisance because while it's in one side of a double socket an ordinary sized plug can't get in the other side.As for a spider-free house, I'll believe that when it happens.

Okay!
Didn't want to put poison down outside as next door neighbours have animals and we back onto field, hence why we have mice taking refuge in are house during winter! and also not sure what other animals come into are garden of a night time so looked at many differeng things traps etc. Then thought what about ultra sonic that should keep them away, instead of putting traps out! You can only asuume its working as its such a high pitch your not likely to here it and they say it takes at least a couple of weeks for them to get a custome to noise, if this doesn't work may have to look into poisons and bait blocks, think its just been such a cold winter until previous winters they are trying to seek refuge where they can! Just don't want it to be in my house!!
