Fantastic bit of kit
I ordered a pair of these from Amazon a couple of days ago and they were delivered the next day with Amazon Prime (I'm having a free trial at the moment). Was quite surprised by the weight of the boxes, but when you get something as robust as this, I guess you expect a bit of weight. They certainly won't blow over! The stands come part assembled, with tripod and height adjustable centre tube already together. The top part and semi circular horizontal adjustment mechanism are the only elements that you need to assemble yourself. As other have said, just read the instructions (it's actually just an exploded diagram) and it all makes logical sense. The first one took me about 5 mins to put together as I had to remove and relocate a bolt (hadn't realised that the two long bolts were of different lengths). The second one, literally only about 3 mins start to finish. I think that there were something like 4 screws, two bolts, three washers and a knob for tightening the tilting mechanism, so don't let the self assembly put you off. I bought the stands to use, amongst other things, as a run-in and run-out feed for my table saw, plus to support the 4.2metre lengths of decking I'm going to be cutting with my mitre saw next weekend. They're perfect for both those jobs. As others have also said, the top support when turned to the vertical position will hold things such as a door steady whilst you're hanging it. The mini clamping head inside the top support does have some very sharp teeth in it, so you'll need to put a bit of wood packing between that and whatever you're clamping or your end up damaging your workpiece e.g. door. If you look on Youtube you'll see lots the Triton promotional video for this item which shows lots of uses. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm glad I bought a pair of them rather than a single unit.

Great versatile stand! An extra pair of hands!!
This really is an amazing piece of kit and really versatile. The great thing is that it has a clamp built into the top which can easily hold any large stock solid and firm (you will need a small scrap piece of timber so the teeth don't bite into your wood if you use this though). The top angles 45 degrees so it can also hold items vertically like doors for hanging etc. The stand is really well built, solid and sturdy and for this it's not very light but I'd rather it this way round. Wood sheets slide no problem across the top if you use it for holding up sheets whilst ripping. The height adjusts easily and clamps solidly. The legs open out fairly wide to keep the stand stable for sheets of timber and no issues with balance. It also folds up neatly and flat for your car or storage. There are loads of uses for this item and it really is like having an extra pair of hands when needed.

Shame about the clamping teeth.
First one had the fittings missing. Amazon replaced in less than 24 hrs. Absolutely amazed. The product itself is good but could be improved by doing something about the awful clamping teeth. These teeth damage anything you wish to clamp up such as a door and they only grip a small area (around 25 mm), not the whole length. A packer is required to prevent damage and spread the clamping load. This reduces the thickness that can be clamped. I cannot believe that there isn't a durable plastic jaw that goes the full length. It could be of course mine has this missing? A good sturdy tool that needs the clamping sorted.

Very Supportive
I was lucky enough to purchase 2 of these when Amazon had them as one of their warehouse deals for less than £10 each. I had never seen or heard of them before and was a bit apprehensive about buying more than 1 just in case they were rubbish, as a lot of so called stands, workbenches and supports often are. But all the user ratings were 5 star so I went ahead and took a chance. I was so glad I did buy 2 as they are quite superb. They are exceptionally stable and very strong. They are made with quality metal and nicely finished off so there are no sharp edges or metal burrs that you could cut yourself on. An item as useful and well made as this for the price I paid really deserves a 6 star rating. So I would highly recommend this to anyone who does DIY at home or as their trade as it is well made and appears to be well up to some heavy frequent use. After having used them a few times I would say that even at full price they represent good vale because they are so useful.

Trusted helping hand
I bought one of these about 25 years ago and have been meaning to buy another for a while now as it allows me to manoeuvre 8’x4’ sheets of material on the table saw single handedly and safely. Well made, well thought out and not that expensive.

Handy
Fairly sturdy for the price. Being able to rotate the jaws makes it helpful in a variety of uses, supporting wood in combination with my WorkMate, and holding doors for planing I use thin pieces of wood to protect what's being clamped when using the small gripping teeth. For my uses, I couldn't justify the higher cost of the top of the range alternative. I screwed some ply board to a piece of 1 x 2 inch wood, and grip the wood with the stand to provide a small adjustable height table, as one use-case.

That third arm you always needed!
Having previously been impressed with the design and workmanship on a Triton router which I purchased, I decided to give a couple of these stands a try, as I was very dissatisfied with the flimsy roller stands I already had. As support stands for planers and table saws, they are greatly superior to the normal cheap roller stands which are so widely used. They are far sturdier and far easier to level and truly do a good job. They also don't drag timber off in the wrong direction, which can happen with rollers stands. In addition, however, they are also very useful, multi-purpose stands, with a range of uses that are probably only limited by your imagination. So if you want a trestle, third-hand, planer stand, etc., etc. this is the beast for you

good but..
Very useful, but concerns about quality control - there are 4 6mm screws holding the top on the tripod. On the two stands I have just bought, in both cases one of the 4 screws is, bizarrely, a twin thread screw, so doesn't fit (except with the usual brute force and ignorance). Difficult to imagine how it could happen in one case, but for both stands it beggars belief. Some concern about the flimsy nature of the adjusting screws, as mentioned by another reviewer.
