Iconic - Protein Drink Rtd Cafe Au Lait 11.5 Fl. Oz. 159567

I am having some major surgery coming up. My doctor recommended a different drink (3 a day for 5 days before surgery - and 3 a day for 2 weeks after). Only problem is the protein drink he recommended was HORRIBLE. The 5th ingredient is anchovy paste!! It was truly awful and a hundred bucks for 12 drinks! So, I asked if I could sub out the awful, super expensive drink for these Iconic drinks. He agreed! I ordered the Iconic chocolate truffle, the caffe latte and the vanilla. Do you like chocolate milk?! Who doesn't, the chocolate truffle tastes like the best chocolate milk you've ever tried! When I drink the caffe latte I pour it over ice or blend with ice and it's like a really terrific iced coffee! The vanilla bean is as delicious as it sounds. And they all SMELL good too. Honestly. All of this, without anything that is bad for you and 20 grams of protein!! In fact my doctor says he will now recommend these drinks. When you HAVE to do a meal replacement drink - you have GOT to try these first! I am soooo grateful for them - for taste and cost! Plus they are shelf stable!!! So refrigerate as you need them! I would give these 10 stars if I could. Just ordered more. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. I love the caffe latte flavor and have one almost every day. I know that people taste things differently, but I don't think this tastes like plastic or medicine or any of the things people have mentioned in the negative reviews. I am not a coffee drinker though so I don't have real coffee to compare it to. Many other protein drinks have so many calories, and this one has 140 calories and 20 grams of protein which for me is a good calories to protein ratio. The chocolate flavor is OK, but I like the coffee one much better.

I have autoimmune diseases which severely restrict my choices for healthy nutrition. This is just the ticket when I'm having a busy day, or am traveling, and need protein. It's also got a bit of caffeine: always a plus in my book! The taste is yummy, no after-taste, and it feels more like a treat than a nutritious snack between real meals.

Love the taste, lost weight, great ingredients. I just can no longer afford them.

I was expecting this protein drink to taste better than the drinks I usually make using the pea or whey based protein powders. I was really looking forward to having these in the morning in place of a coffee. Unfortunately that's not going to happen. These drinks are very well blended, not terribly thick but they have this terrible plastic aroma and taste. It reminds me of the smell you're often hit with when you first take a pool raft out of the package or how a new vinyl shower curtain liner often smells. I don't know if the bad smell and taste is from the plastic bottle the drinks are in or what. The drinks are not out of date, the best buy date for the ones I received is July 2024. The drinks were well sealed, no leakage from shipping so I don't think the bottles were compromised. Thank goodness I ordered 2 of my favorite protein powders to make drinks with. These drinks were not inexpensive and given how terrible they taste I will not be buying them again.
