An ideal accessory for sharpening secateurs, being a good size and thickness to be comfortable in the hand and coming with instructions on the three styles of movements needed to be used to restore a sharp blade on gardening tools, which I found very handy, being unaware of the circular, side edge and back motions needed to complete the job properly.

Purchased for use whilst backpacking/camping. Theoretically ideal, due to the combination of two grades, compact size, and rounded edges suitable for my recurved knife , and in practice, it will do. The coarse (blue) side, is pretty much exactly what I expected/hoped for, but the "fine" (white) side is a little less fine than I expected. That's not to say it's far too coarse, just not as fine as I'd consider ideal. I'll just have to do a bit more stropping than I'd have liked. Both sides do a good job of grinding, and it's recommended on the card backed blister packaging to clean the stone with soapy water. The stone is somewhat porous, and the addition of water whilst grinding seems to help get a good finish. That then should work out well, IF the "pores" don't get blocked up with ground steel. A smoother, finer ceramic, wouldn't have this possible flaw, and only time will tell if its effectiveness can be maintained. If not, I'll update this review. It's a good stone, but for the price I paid (subject to change of course) I can't honestly say "I love it!". I like it, because for my specific needs, it's the closest to ideal I could find. There simply aren't many similar options, even without counting the combination of two grades. ________ Another reviewer mentioned that the addition of a protective pouch would be a welcome addition, and I tend to agree. For a relatively small and delicate tool, costing a relatively large amount, something as simple as a velcro fastening webbing bag would have been nice, but that's really neither here nor there. It was never part of the deal, and simple enough to make something suitable. But really Felco? C'mon!

This is a really good quality whetstone which is excellent for sharpening my garden secateurs. It's a sturdy and made of metal - much, much better than other varieties on the market.

Other reviews have commented how small this is, but it's the right size for working on secateurs and very quickly brings a dull blade back to life if you follow the simple instructions. I've also used it successfully on branch loppers and garden shears; it may have other uses I haven't thought of yet.

Slips neatly into Felco 910, and really does sharpen well

I purchased this to sharpen a single set of secateurs, I have now sharpened a couple of pair of garden shears and several pairs of scissors and my other half just told me to sharpen the knives in the kitchen. Great bit of kit and very handy.

Molto sottile e pratica, poche passate e si affilano forbici, coltelli, pelapatate e lame in ceramica che non son riuscito ad affilare con altre cose. Seit einem Jahr im Einsatz und nicht mehr wegzudenken. Meine Gartenscheren lassen sich damit schnell und unkompliziert schärfen und schneiden danach wie neu. Robust, handlich und absolut empfehlenswert! Nach getanem Schnittwerk ein kühles Getränk und den Stein ein wenig über die Scheren gleiten lassen – das ist inzwischen ein kleines Ritual :)

Definitely my favourite dry stone.
