GreatGadgets 3072 USB Mini Fridge (Black)

I bought this so I wouldn't have to keep going downstairs to our kitchen to get the baby's milk out of our fridge when he woke during the night. The plan was simply to have a bottle in this mini fridge by the bed so I could feed him before he got his nappy in a twist waiting for me to wake up, go downstairs, turn off the alarm, get to the fridge, attach the teet, come back upstairs and THEN feed him!Firstly, it is very compact - look at the picture - one 330ml can of pop fills this fridge!A nice feature is a little blue light that comes on when you open the door.BUT ... this will not make your drink cold! As far as I've experienced, all it really does is stop your drink from getting hot. And having said that, I imagine that if you are in a very hot country, it probably won't even do that.I'm not saying don't buy it, just be prepared for the fact that if you are buying this to try and keep your can of fizz ice-cold while sat on your desk, it will most likely disappoint.

Firstly it's not a fridge, there is a cooling fan only. Due to size, you can only just get a can in this. Honestly, as a gadget it's fun but that's about it.I'd like to add something to my previous statement.This item is a fun gadget and did keep my small glass of milk cooler a bit longer, but my home is very hot. so it does work,.Please don't take my comments as proof as a bad product as I am not suggesting that at all, my comments are meant for you to read all product info first. This company is great, I will gladly buy again.

This is a 'Mini Fridge', let me put this simply. It is a plastic box with a small fan underneath with a USB cable sticking out of it. That's it.I could tell as soon as I opened it, it has been manufactured using the cheapest ways possible. It is a cast plastic box, which a USB cable leads into that powers two things:1. A tiny blue LED on the inside which is rather pointless if you ask me as it's not used for seeing things in the fridge and surely can't be decoration.2. A fan underneath probably less powerful than a mid range computer fan. Supposedly this fan blows against the aluminium bottom which transfers very little cool to the inside.It definitely cannot be cool enough for milk as that is what it was bought for, as cannot fit any such plastic container in it. About the only thing it is good for is a somewhat cool can of fizzy drink or to stop your chocolate melting on a hot day. At the time of writing it is around 15 pounds, which is an absolute rip off, and I strongly suggest you save your money on a mini fridge powered off the mains perhaps.Now that I think about it the product is flawed from the start seeing as you can draw so little power from a USB port.

Alas and alack the company stopped doing free hot drinks where we could get a proper drink (teabags and milk) and reverted to vending machine slops or a visit to the local Costa. Hot water isn't a problem but milk was, that was until I bought one of these.I had to hunt around for a jar that would fit in (it has to be smaller than a standard coke tin to fit on the cool plate) but now I have the perfect fit and it will stop the milk going off all day (07:30 to 16:00). It is not a fridge in the true sense of the word, it has a cooling plate that is never going to produce ice, it's only drawing about 100 MAmps after all, but it will keep stuff cool.They don't bounce. Mine is now pimped with aluminium tape for that extra cool look, and it keeps the door on.

We bought this for work to keep our milk cool enough to stop it from going off over night. The first time we tried it, in the morning we were greeted by curdled milk, maybe even more so than if we'd have left it on the desk for the night! This may work for a can of coke but it wasn't up to standard for our needs.

The fridge is plasticky and of cheap construction. However, I do not care for the build quality. This fridge was the perfect size to attach to the temperature sensor in my office using pieces of cardboard and duct tape to direct the expelled hot air from the fridge through the temperature sensor box. This confuses the buildings air conditioning making it think that it is hotter in my office than it actually is. My office is now cool enough for me to work in. Very grateful for the existence of this product.
