Mandalas to Crochet: 30 great patterns

Mandala happiness!
Really beautiful book that I received as a gift from my hubby.Very easy to follow patterns with a choice of starting with a magic circle or a chain to form a circle which I thought was really good as I still haven't quite mastered the magic circle yet!I actually learned a new stitch in this book called the standing stitch which is detailed at the start of the book. I would highly recommend everyone reads this before starting a mandala (which is where I went wrong to begin with...😅)Looking forward to making all the mandalas in the book with lots of different colours. There is also a section at the back which gives patterns for various projects to make with mandalas i.e. potholders etc. which I shall also look forward to making.I would highly recommend this book for beginners and advanced crocheters alike.

Great choice
I got hooked (!) on crochet mandalas with the '20 to make' book but this gives much more choice. Great for beginners, patterns start in the easy one-stitch-but-vary-the-colour level and progress through to more complex with lots of background on the basics - how to keep the circles flat, stitches, symbols, finishing and edging. Patterns are in both written and chart format with a choice of chain or magic loop start. There are also 6 projects at the back - all look fun to do. I'm not a fan of the colour schemes but that's just a matter of taste. I think this book is great.

Lovely
I've crocheted a couple of mandalas recently and enjoyed them. When I saw this book I just had to give it a go. Especially on reading the good reviews. Well I wasn't disappointed. The patterns are lovely, the instructions seem clear and there are diagrams as well. Perfect. There is also a bit of a bonus section at the back with ideas for borders and a few projects - a couple of blankets, a scarf, table mat and a brilliant bathroom rug which I shall definitely have a go at. If you enjoy crochet, I would highly recommend this book. Its lovely, and great value.

Good
On first flick through this book I have to admit I was rather disappointed and decided to return it. The next day I looked again and changed my mind as it is incredibly well written and easy to understand. My initial disappointment I think was based on the fact that all the colour ways shown are very muted, natural or vintage looking and my idea of a mandala is to look bright, vivid and clashy colourful. Of course you can use your own colours and types of yarn but I seem to have trouble being inspired by objects that to my eye look rather dull. Anyway, that is personal preference of course but as a crochet book of mandalas to make this really is a fantastic book and I'm glad I decided to keep it.

A delightful book: Practical and Pretty!
I really ummed and ahhed about whether to buy this book. I'm new to crochet (having only picked up a hook for the first time about 3 months ago). I wondered if this would be too specific for a beginner. Finally I was seduced by the front cover, and I'm so pleased I was.The book kicks off with a great introduction to different yarns and colour combinations. The exact same Mandala pattern was made with different yarns (from thread through to garden twine and t-shirt material) and each Mandala is shown in real size, so you get a good idea of how large your project will end up and the nuances of each yarn.Whilst instructive, the book encourages you to discover different yarns and colours. Most of the book consists of the patterns for the Mandalas and then there are handful of projects at the back (rug, summer scarf, bag, etc). This feels like a major modern update on 'doily' crochet. I'm really excited about making everyone who knows me coasters (be warned, family and friends!!).This is a REALLY pretty book. And one I find myself sometimes just reading for pleasure (crochet-porn!).There are lots of other motif books out there, so I can't make a comparison, but I'm very pleased with this book and will be looking out for future titles by the same author.

Beautiful book
Absolutely love this book. Beautifully presented, clear, easy to read patterns and every single mandala is beautiful. I would very highly recommend this to anyone who crochets, beginner or advanced. Perfect little projects if you need a break from a bigger one or just some mindful, creative time.

Fantastic book.
This book helped me teach myself to crochet. The beautiful mandalas make you want to try, the fact that as well as instructions there are coloured patterns which make it easy to see what stitches you should be doing. I can get confused with the written instructions but together with the patterns I found it much easier to understand.I highly recommend this book.

A must on your crochet bookshelf
A book worth having in your collection. The patterns are lovely, well written and easy to follow so long as you've read the first chapters. I have tried several of the tips given and found them invaluable. The patterns are written for 4ply and DK yarns but can be used with other yarns and appropriately sized hooks.
