Love it.
I love this bible, i am always a little reticent to change the Bible i use but this is a really good one. It is a dispensational Bible, however i dont really know that theology so am not too bothered about it. The chain refference is really helpful, totally different to the Thompson one. The writing itself is a little smaller than the usual Bible text, its not giant print but not the bog standard either. I think this is a size nine print as opposed to the usual size 10 in most Bibles.Really in depth concordance in the back along with a subject index which is totally different from the chain referenses so in all three different references to use. And this is the only Bible i have used where all of the paragraph headings actually make sense and reflect the paragraph context.Only has one ribbon marker, I prefere 2, and it is a touch smaller than my Ryrie study Bible, but not markedly. Words of Christ in red; which i like and a nice intro to all books of the Bible. There is a wonderful panoramic view of the Bible in the begining of this Bible which i think should be in all Bibles. The cross references are ok, what you gain in the chain references you lose in the ordinary cross references. Enough notes to get you by, but not as many as the NIV study bible, but i prefere it that way. The only drawback for me it that it isnt wide margin so you have to squeeze notes in at the top or bottom. Also has side notes where some of the word translations are questionable and gives alternative meenings for them which is good too.And finally it is in English English and not American which, as a Brit i much rather prefere. All in all a really good Bible, oh and this is for the King James Version.

Beautiful
I love the soft leather cover and the gilded edges, unlike a hardcover bible its softer cover makes it easier to hold; it sort of drapes, but the weight of it stops it drooping too far; a hardcover can break on the spine if you open it too far, and a paperback eventually falls apart; this is just nicer to hold and more durable than other.I love the old style language, even knowing that there are translation problems wit KJV, but the differences are given in the sidebar. I love all the maps, and explanatory notes, even though some ideas have been dropped in current christianity (for example the idea that there was another creation before Adam, which would make God a failure and also not omniscient, I find this belief fascinating but can see no basis for it.) I also love the concordance and list of proper names, and the subject index. I love the subject references throughout, which can take you on extraordinary journeys of discovery!Soime will find the archaic type more difficult to read, and I did find it harder for just a little while but soon adapted to it.All in all a total bargain, a pleasure to hold and to read, but be careful to question the very old ideas of the theology in the notes, use them to explore ideas, not as a final authority.

It’s the old Scofield not the new one.
This is the old Scofield reference Bible and is true to the original intentions. It has not been altered by a committee with other motives. It’s a great size to put in a bag (a tad too big for a pocket) and the font size is acceptable even for people like me that use bifocals. The references are helpful.

Excellent study bible but remember this version is in old English.
Excellent commentary to the bible for better understanding of the text.

Scofield Bible still the best for study, for novice and advanced students.
This Bible will help anyone with a profound need to search deeper and wider into the Holy Bible. You can never stop learning from the Bible, but it can be difficult to understand passages, verses etc that were written so long ago and,let is not forget, originally, in the Hebrew language.John Scofield understood our needs and helps to unravel the mysteries in this most beautiful of Bibles, all bound in Leather.Of course the King James version is the most poetic of all the English translations, and Scofield enables us to grasp even the smallest detail with his mastery of the intricacies of the Bible.A wonderful purchase you will never forget.

Not as advertised
A friend of ours has the proper article, and so we ordered this one, apparently the same but at a lower cost. There is a reason for the lower cost, however. This is advertised as leather but is in fact bonded leather. Although disappointed, we decided to keep it.

Great value, helpful and deserves to be used in Bible study.
This is a first class study bible with very helpful notes. If you disagree with the notes check first if they agree with scripture. Too many folk dismiss this excellent bible study tool without checking prayerfully if their preconceptions are right. The AV on which it is based has blessed and helped Christians for years. The dispensational premillennial, teaching it gives accords with scripture.I highly recommend this bible to read and study.

Very Pleased
I have had this bible a short while now and find it an absolute pleasure to read and use. The print is clear for a medium size bible and the chain reference system is excellent. The Scofield notes are premillenial so you may wish to consider that if you are of a different oppinion. The Genuine leather binding is excellent and feels like it will last for years. All in all a great Bible at an excellent price.

The Word Of God
Great reference Bible. I have had mine for almost 54 years and the one I bought was a gift for a dear friend of mine. I would highly recommend buying this Bible because it has so many verses that makes it easy to understand. The middle section gives you other verses to refer to as marked in the main text.

Great KJV Bible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great KJV Bible, fits perfectly in my purse & is not heavy. I received it alot quicker than expected. A friend told me about this Bible & she asked me to order her one. She had hers in the 1940's & read the copyright dates & they matched. Order more in because alot of people have been looking for this version & were unsuccessful. Either they were way too over priced or the supplier never carried particular Bible.:)
