Fantastic product for first time home waxing!
Bought this as in Lockdown due to coronavirus so cannot get out to the salon for my usual 5 weekly Hollywood wax. Understandably I was nervous attempting this at home as a complete novice. Looked up a few online tutorials and reviews of waxes found this was the best product to use for hot waxing at home.I don't have a wax warmer so was looking for something I could either heat up in the microwave or on the stove - this worked fine on my electric hob at home, however I am now looking to invest in a wax warmer as I would prefer to wax in the bathroom than in the kitchen! You can get two or three strips out of the pot before it starts to harden and needs warming up again on the stove. Obviously this will differ a little depending on how quick you are, the temperature in the room you are waxing in and the surface you put the pot down on.The wax comes already sitting in a little metal saucepan. I found the amount to be just right for a hollywood wax so doing a bikini or underarm you would probably get 3 or 4 waxes out of one kit. You pop the saucepan on a low heat for a few minutes then mix it up to a honey consistency. As I say you need to go reasonably quickly before it needed heating again. I wouldn't leave it on the stove as it would be too hot to use.The kit comes with three spatulas - one is smaller than the other two with a neat little handle to hold and mix the wax with. I found I only needed to use this one throughout as it was very convenient. The wax hardens just like it does in the salon and you just need to leave yourself a little lip of thicker wax to be able to remove the section. As online tutorials suggest smaller areas are definitely easier to remove and less painful but this worked in bigger sections also. Brilliant hair removal and not too painful (but I am used to this area being waxed!) The product had a pleasant mild smell and was a green colour, easy to see and gentle on my skin - I have sensitive skin.Inside the kit was also a bottle of after wax oil to use on the skin. The bottle looks tiny but you really don't need much of it at all - a little goes a long way! This oil felt very nice on my skin and was soothing post wax. I think it will last a long time.I am so impressed with this kit and wish I had bought one sooner. If there is ever a situation where you cannot see a professional for this kind of waxing I cannot recommend trying this out yourself. Not at all as scary as it might seem, just a little more time consuming but I expect I will get quicker as I am more practised! It is also very easy to clean up if you have any spillages but I would recommend only using this around hard surfaces, I certainly wouldn't like to try and get this out of a towel or carpet.Thank you Parissa for coming to my rescue at this tough time!I will definitely be buying it again!

Excellent, Easy to use , recommend
Wow! Never in my life used anything like this. Comes in a little saucepan I put on my hob. So easy to use. Normally use cold straps to little avail. This got rid of hairs on upper lip in one go. I did it in 3 sections... left , right then middle. Then got the bug and wanted to wax more. Did the baby hairs under my side burns, chin and eyebrows. Highley recommend. Easy to use and excellent value. Going to brave armpits tomorrow. Also lovely aftercare oil. Comes with everything you need, spatulas, wax, saucepan and aftercare product. Seems good for sensitive skin and very little pain.Wonder if they do bigger tubs for legs? Perfect for smaller facial areas, arm pits and bikini

Beginner's review. Impressed!
So normally I would get my eyebrows waxed every 2 months at the salon but due to the covid 19 quarantine this wasn't an option and my brows started to look like 2 fat caterpillars chasing each other for the last green leaf of summer.I have NEVER used any type of wax before. The only thing I would normally do is pluck a few strays and leave the rest to the professionals. So after doing my research and looking at multiple products and reviews I decided this product would be my victim!I recieved this today. And first thoughts was that the box was very well demonstrated and compact. After opening the box and pulling out the products I was slightly disappointed as my wax was covered in something that wasn't quite sand, wasn't quite dust. (i would normally upload pics but there is no option to atm)Anyway I gave it all a good wipe over and got started.I read the instructions carefully. They are quite easy to follow however I feel they miss a few steps that are quite important.I then put my wax on the cooker on a low heat. While the wax was melting I then prepped my brows after washing my face by holding a warm cloth to them both for roughly 30 seconds to open the pores and then brushed them back to shape.I would recommend always using the warm cloth at least to open pores as this makes extraction easier and less painful (in my opinion)I then let my wax cool for another minute until I was able to hold the heat on my fingertips.I used the shortest stick and applied a little product to the bottom of my face first to test. And then I attacked my brows like my life depended on it!I found the first brow application to be quite easy apart from the huge mess I made and the fact that if you're not careful it can drip onto the ends of your eyelashes - my life flashed before my eyes but with a damp warm cloth was able to remove the wax safely and efficiently.I completely filled my arch and left it until the wax on top wasn't quite dry but wasn't sticky and ripped off. This is sooo satisfying. Almost no pain, no redness and it took every single little hair I covered! Very impressed.I then started on my left brow where things got more tricky. The wax had already started to harden again so I had to run back to the kitchen and let it melt on the stove for another minute or so until it was at a liquid state.I then left to cool again and then applied to the left brow, however found this more difficult as I'm right handed and was not applying in the best light so the wax did end up a little higher than i wanted. The wax dries quite quickly and you don't have time to correct mistakes and so I went with it -after all this is my first time and I use a brow pencil anyway. Because I did take a little more extra care trying to apply, when removing the wax I did notice a little pin prick of blood from where I had let the wax dry for too long. But I only noticed this when looking very closely at my art work in the mirror. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed.Again peeling the was off was satisfactory and very easy. However. As I said I went a little too high with the wax, so my left brow is slightly skinnier than my right. I would also note to always do this in good clear lighting as once I had finished I did notice there was some residue of wax in patches. And again, this will still take out hairs when trying to remove.I did also tweeze a few strays hairs that I missed afterwards. My brows are a little sensitive now but not stinging like they normally do after going to the salon.I did not use the oil provided because I used a moisturizer straight after.Overall I am happy with the results and believe that practice makes perfect.A tip. USE GLOVES. The box does not come with any nor does the instructions say to. But as a first time waxer I found this VERY messy and if not peeled off hands almost straight away. You'll then have to scrub and pick for a good 10 mins haha. This item I feel deserves 4 stars only due to the state my item arrived in (the dust) and no gloves being provided.I would also recommend buying a few extra wooden spatulas as these realistically need to be thrown away after application.AND I also read you can use hot wax on black heads.I did try this by applying wax to my nose where I am more likely to have them and IT WORKED!!! it also tightened my pores and left my skin feeling smooth!Winner winner! Will purchase again for sure.

Works Like a Charm
I’ve never used hot wax at home and didn’t want to invest in a machine that melts those wax beads as I wasn’t ready to commit so this was a perfect introduction to it. It melted easily and quite fast over the stove. I found it a little tricky to apply as I wasn’t sure what’s the best consistency but once I got used to it, those fine upper lip hairs were gone! Might need to apply some aloe gel after to avoid any breakouts. And the pot may last me awhile so good value.

Good but wouldn't buy again
Pros: very good at removing short facial hair, easy to apply especially for awkward and small areas on the face. Also gentle on the skinCons: difficult to heat (requires a stove) and cools very quickly which means you have to make several trips to and from the kitchen. Also, takes a few tries to get the hang of. I found most effective results to be when I applied a thin layer of wax and peeled it off almost immediately. A thicker layer left for too long will turn brittle and cannot be 'waxed off'.
