After having some back ground with Irish music and tin whistles I came across docjazz4 ( David Eric Ramos) doing a review for one of these on youtube and heard of Karl's love of Irish music and of ocarinas and how he wanted something like a tin whistle that was durable and highly portable. I usually just stuff a flute in my pack as I leave in the morning for work. ( its great for traffic lights or lunch brakes!) Since receiving this ocarina its with me all the time (even now) and its great for getting in quick practice sessions throughout the day. It has great tone and is a lot of fun to play. I can see myself getting the bigger brother in the key of c in the near future as well. I guess what I find most impressive is its size. I have a versatile ocarina flute in a package the size of about a harmonica. I like harmonicas too but this is so much more fun and durable and I never have to worry about a reed going flat. This is a super durable and smaller version of the common transverse ocarina. The holes have been rearranged to an inline layout for a slick form factor that makes it very easy to find space in a pocket or bag to take it anywhere with you. It's in the key of G, so a bit higher than the common alto C ocarinas. With the new hole arrangement, the fingering on the sharps/flats is slightly different, yet similar enough that it's easy to pick up on with a little practice.The material is very light and feels high quality - it is not cheap or brittle. You would have to do something extreme to damage it. You can also get a decent volume of it - it sounds great! Has a very pure tone with a hint of airiness to it.

The media could not be loaded.  In perfect tune, at a very comfortable breath pressure!!!! The in-line nature of the piece, indestructibility, and the two included thumbhole covers make this ocarina, very likely, the best for teaching children. And it is a professional ocarina by any standard. If you know how to play and can get your breath pressure right, it is going to sound good. I am very out of practice it has been a while so do not blame the ocarina for my mistakes on the included sound recording. Also it was done with my cell phone which is not great for recording perse but I think it turned out okay. Also, I received two notifications within a week that it was going to show up earlier and it did. Just an extra little surprise!!!

The ocarina is fun and easy to play with practice. The notes are clear and aren't very breathy, even when I played while congested. The fluorescent green looks cool and pretty. It fits well in my hands, and I don't have to stretch my fingers far to play notes.

This is a quality, pocketable instrument. If you play 12 or 10 hole ocarina already, it's an easy transition to this one. Highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded.  Portability is good. Sound is descent but sometimes I feel it sounds like a toy. With that said, I am not an expert and I am still learning. It is confortable and easy to learn the positions of the fingers. Price wise I think it should cost $25 but that is my opinion, this is a small business so I also understand. This ocarina seems to be well made, if I drop it I dont think it will break at all. My thoughts are that as I learn I will enjoy more and more this instrument.

When you get the breath right it sounds so nice and kind of ancient sounding in a good way, it's like a sound from the past with a design made for modern day travel and adventure. Just PRACTICE it's not magical you still gotta put in the days like any other instrument but make it something fun it doesn't have to be Beethoven reincarnated lol just enjoy the beautiful sound somewhere relaxing and secluded.

This is a wonderful instrument that exactly what it says on the package. It is very durable and would be safe in the hands of children. It has a good range it comes with great information on how to play. There are some great resources online if you look at their website. Should be updated soon.

Me encantó esta ocarina, me da mucho gusto que se haya fabricado nuevamente ya que desde hace tiempo estaba interesada en ella. Suena muy bien y está perfectamente afinada. Es muy práctica para llevar a donde sea, tanto por su diseño como por su tamaño.
