Easy to use. Broad range of settings
Highly recommend. Lightweight. Easy to use. Quiet. Dial on top allows for a wide range of settings for distance and spray pattern. Sliding red tabs below the spray head allow adjustment for a stationary, arc or full circle spray. The wide base is very stable, but if the ground is uneven, you can easily place a brick or a small paver on the base to hold it down more securely.Made of a durable plastic, it's lightweight. You'll get about 4-5 years of regular use. I tend to leave mine outside the entire growing season, and the intense sun tends to fade and degrade the plastic over the years. You may get more years out of yours if you bring it inside between uses. However I love this model so much, and it's so versatile and inexpensive that I simply buy another one when the old one fails. Because it's made of plastic, please take care not to drop it down with force on hard surfaces. It will endure quite a bit of rough handling, but a serious drop could cause the spray head to crack. It has never happened to me, but the possibility does exist.I love the fact that I can set it down, turn it on, adjust the spray in moments, and then walk away, knowing that it will do it's job well.

Loved it until it broke.
I've used Gilmour Turbin Rotor Sprinklers for a number of years and seen the design improve from their first turbine through this current model. I purchased this particular product in April of 2010 and used it to suppliment a rather poorly designed and executed in-ground sprinkler system that came with this house. When removing it from the end of a hose I accidentally dropped it from a height of about 2 1/2 feet onto the grass and the head broke off at the base. Unforunately the repair I tried using Gorilla Glue didn't work so it's time for a new one.Over the last 15 years I've purchased nearly every gear driven (turbine) rotary sprinkler on the market including Naan, Orbit, Craftsman, Nelson, Gardena and others. I've also used impact (pulse) sprinklers, stationary sprinklers, oscillating, whirling, and various other types, as well as some travelling sprinklers. The current Gilmour has better, more even coverage, and is the most easily adjustable of any of the others I've used.Pros:-Quiet-Dependable-Even Coverage-Easily adjustable distance and rotation patterns-Doesn't leakCons:-All plastic construction which unfortunately is the norm in turbine (aka gear driven) rotary sprinklers)I deducted one star because I think the head broke off more easily than it should given the circumstances. Other than that it is one of the two best sprinklers I've ever owned. The other is a Nelson 1865 Raintrain Traveling Sprinkler . The travelling sprinkler is my choice for a long narrow portion of my yard and is superior in high wind conditions that we frequently have in Kansas. The arms on the Raintrain can be adjusted to spray close to the ground so the wind doesn't catch the water and blow it into the next county.Regardless, if a rotary sprinkler for large areas is what will work best for you, the Gilmour Turbine Rotary receives my highest recomendation. BTW, I ordered my new Gilmour Turbine just before writing this review. If I didn't think it was a great sprinkler I wouldn't have re-ordered it.

Have been using for years.
One of the best sprinklers I have found. Can be moved from place to place and is easily adjustable for different size areas. I have been using this sprinkler for years. The last two I bought lasted for 4 years and I won't use anything else as long as Gilmour keeps making them.

Neighbors must have
I've owned this sprinkler for 8 years. I currently use 8 sprinlklers at a time. I keep 2 more sprinklers as back ups. One sprinkler to sell to a friend and the other to replace a malfuctioning one. I've sold about 8 of them. Over the years Gilmore has replaced 3 sprinkles because hard water has cause the limiting leavers to malfunction or sprinkler head wouldn't osulate. Gilmore has improved this sprinkler over the years. This newest design has a quicker set time. By moving both limiting leavers toward sprayer discharge, the osculator repeats the side your trying to set. This saves time because you don't have wait for it's full rotation to check the corrective set. Other reviews states that they wish this sprinkler would go 360 degrees. The design of this sprinkler is set so when it changes direction it either sprays further out or less depending on the direction. This function is why the water coverage is so good. The one persent of none coverage in the 360 is still covered from over spray. Leakage at the base can be corrected by tighting it. I set the sprinkler to leak, so the small area under and around the base gets watered. I am going to buy another 2 sprinkles, to replace another requested one, and a stolen one. I pray for the one who decided he needed my sprinkler more then I, so that he will find the answer to the greatest need in our lifes. A friend in Jesus. Hopefully, maybe he will confess and I'll have another brother. That sprinkler will be my first gift him.

Great sprinkler
Have one of these already, but wanted a second one so I wouldn't have to move it between front and back lawn areas. I have some narrow pie-shaped spaces to water and the adjustable arc on these is perfect for my needs. Base is large to keep the sprinkler in place and the arc adjustments and spray adjustments make it easy to get just the right water pattern required.
