WHY DOES everything plastic cost too much, except Zhu Zhu electric hamsters?Far and away the worst thing - perhaps the only bad thing - about Learning Minds Mega Modz construction set is the £17.99, which in my view could do with a cut to below £14.99 at worst, and preferably rather further.I got my set free for favour of review and it's true that including 10 chunky, knobbly-tired wheels greatly increased the value. (Unless the kids ate two there were 10, which strikes me as a little restrictive. I mean, 10 wheels is perhaps two cars and one trailer, while 12 wheels would allow a much more flexible three cars or two cars and two trailers…)Setting aside such doubts, small reviewer Imogen, aged 5, summed up a week of enthralled clicking and connecting: "It was really nice," adding that she needed no pictures to design and build her own car but rather "I just thinked it, in my head.""Sam had most of the wheels for his car but it was nice when I got some…" (what did I say, above?) "… my car was very nice."This shoe-box sized kit kept two very different youngsters happily amused for most of a wet half-term in a tiny village, with no tantrums, let alone bloodshed. It's simpler than many a construction toy but that hardly limits what can be achieved by an active imagination.The wipe-clean pieces are colourful and would probably stand up to a cool machine wash while their simple set of shapes allows a surprising variety of combinations.

This is good kit, there are plenty of pieces to make multiple things (for us robots and cars) at the same time. There are 10 wheels included, which is a little strange as a multiple of 4 would make sense, but it is handy to have a couple of spares.Oddly the pieces didn't match the colours on the enclosed sheet of example builds, which made them harder to replicate, until you got used to it (if they use red you use blue etc.)The down side of this is that you can get your skin trapped as you click them together, which really hurts, but we soon learned to avoid that.Tip: the ones with the dips in the middle do click into each other, you just have to push firmly.My 4 year old could make lots of different things, and was able to play with this toy independently as well as enjoying it with us.

Bought this from amazon.co.uk. Very fast delivery to Greece. Now to the product. My 4 year old loves it, my 2 year old finds it a bit difficult. It is of good quality and it is easy to build various constructions. Building cars are a favorite, but also animals, dinosaurs etc. I would recommend this toy set.

Bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday. Large pieces which were bigger than I expected, so great for the younger child. Includes 10 wheels so plenty of construction possibilities. The quality is great and comes in a lovely strong storage box. The plastic is the hard brittle type so a little worried they may snap or crack under pressure. Usually these types of things are made from the slightly softer flexible plastic but with a bit of care these should prove tough enough. Lots of building ideas included but you can make anything you like.

My children have zoobs and wanted another set so I brought these as they looked the same. They are good quality; in fact my boys say they fit together better than the zoobs. As my children are fans of lego, this is an alternative construction toy for them to play with and they have spent many happy hours creating creatures and having imaginary battles. Would definitely recommend for children of all ages!

I love these so much..... Sorry, my children (7 &4) love these so much. With various connections, cross pieces and wheels you are limited only by ypur imagination. When used with other toys, e.g play doh or plasticene , a whole new world of robotic like dinosaur creatures emerge. Great imaginative toy. All the kids friends love it too. Great value and fab storage box too.

Kids love this. Some pieces in the picture which are included in the box aren't there though which is a bit of a let down
