Great Results by Hand – Restored Colour and Shine!
Great Results by Hand – Restored Colour and Shine!Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)I used Meguiar’s G17216EU Ultimate Compound by hand on my VW Golf Mk7.5, and I’m genuinely impressed with the results. The paint had some light swirling, oxidation, and a couple of marks that were bothering me – this product really helped bring back clarity and depth to the finish.Application was straightforward, though you do need to work it in properly with consistent pressure. It’s a bit of a workout by hand, but definitely worth it. I found it best to do small sections at a time and wipe off before it fully dries, otherwise removal can be a bit tricky. If it does dry up, adding a little fresh product over the area helps it come off easier. What stood out the most is how much richer and glossier the paint looked afterwards. It even reduced the visibility of a deeper scratch more than I expected. I’d imagine results with a dual-action polisher would be even better, but for hand use – it’s seriously impressive.Highly recommended if you want to restore your paint’s clarity without jumping straight to more aggressive options

A Must-Have for Every Car Enthusiast!
I recently purchased Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and it has exceeded my expectations! This product is a game changer for restoring the clarity and color of my car's paint. The application is incredibly easy, whether using a machine polisher or doing it by hand. After just one use, I noticed a significant reduction in scratches and swirl marks, leaving a smooth, glossy finish that looks like new. The formula works wonders on both old and new paint, making it versatile for any vehicle.I appreciate how little product is needed to achieve impressive results, so this bottle goes a long way. If you're looking to bring back the shine and protect your car's exterior, I highly recommend Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. It’s definitely worth adding to your detailing arsenal!

Worked brilliantly for me
I got fantastic results with this, and very easily and quickly too (with just a cloth and small sponge, ie no need for electrically powered polishing machine). I bought this just to try removing an area of slightly dulled clear-coat on the rear wing of my Toyota MR2 Roadster … the top edge of the wing for a length of about 1 metre x 25cm was noticeably dull no matter how much I tried to wash and polish it (with either Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax, or original Turtle Wax Ice Paste … both of which are normally fantastic products for getting a great glossy wax polish on a car). In the distant past I've tried other products (on previous cars) such as T-Cut or various colour enhancing polishing pastes, but none of them really made any noticeable difference. However, this product from Meguiras was an instant revelation … all I did was wipe it on with a small sponge (the type that comes with the aforementioned wax polishes), and just polish that in quite firmly for about 2 or 3 mins, then left that to dry for 5 mins, and then spent no more than 2 or 3 mins polishing it off with a microfibre cloth … in just those few minutes the wing was like new, literally! And it's stayed that way now for weeks (so I don't think it's going to go dull any time soon or need another rub over with the Meguiars paste). In fact the result was so good, that I also tried it on the headlight “glass” (it's probably an acrylic material as it is on many cars) which had become quite dulled by 14 years of tiny dust grains impacting the very low front of this particular car (ie it's a low sports car, so the lights are low down, and very vulnerable to stone chips or mostly just being peppered with tiny dust and sand/grit particles), and again the result was absolutely amazing (the headlights went from a rather dull dingy grey-brownish tint to the glass, to crystal clear and looking fantastic in just 5 mins using the polishing paste … I probably could have paid Toyota £150 to do a job even half as good as that on the headlights. So, in summary – really amazing product that worked like magic on my car (might not work so well if your paint-work is in really bad condition of course, but on mine with just slight dulling of the plain red paint and slight dulled overall appearance on the headlights, the result was stunning).

Not as miraculous as I'd hoped.
Read full review for Top Tips . I used this product with some "wool" buffing discs from another seller. It seemed great whilst it was working, and also seemed to reduce some very light scratches. I thought this would take care of the swirl marks but instead found it created more. The next day looking at the car in full sun, I thought I'd I ruined the paint work to be honest. The light reflected differently, almost like a very light brushed steel effect, from certain angles. I picked up some Turtle Wax - wax to help restore the shine which thankfully it did. (to be fair, Meguiars compound does say you can "wax afterwards to give a better protection").This acted as a great cleaner, and got insects and grime off easily I guess. It reduced the appearance of scratches but you have to wax afterwards, this does not do what the image implies on the bottle. Maybe if your car/paint job is really old, it may have a more positive effect. Ours is a 3 year old black car. Finally, this will completely lighten your black plastic trim, but!.. A great youtube hack was to use a standard eraser/rubber, like you'd use to rub out pencil. This removed the dried on residual product which got on to the plastic trim. Also, do not get this on your wing mirrors or any glass, as it can cause fine scratches.

Effective cleaner.
I decided to try this to remove the slight oxidation that had become apparent on a white van having previously used a very well known product without much success. I would say it required only a little less effort to remove the haze and I did have to go back over some areas after closer inspection. As already stated, it was only slight oxidation and I doubt very much if it would restore the paint of a vehicle like that illustrated on the bottle. Furthermore, this product will not remove even the slightest scratches.
