Great mouse!
The scroll wheel on my old Microsoft Basic optical mouse decided to stop working and to start preventing the normal function of the right click button so I had to buy a new one. At first I started looking at Microsoft mice again but, as I kept browsing, I remembered that a friend of mine not long ago ordered a Razer Deathadder Elite and was quite happy with it. It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve had a look at this mouse before at one time (don’t think it was the Elite though) since it kind of reminded me of that great Intellimouse series Microsoft put out years ago which I loved (but, sadly, they stopped making them). It’s worth mentioning that I’m a claw grip user and had problems adjusting to the shape of it at first, but I think that was only because all the mice I’ve used in the past had their right side not as round as this one’s which provided enough gripping space for my ring finger (necessary for lift-offs). I actually thought about returning it after the first day but kept sticking with it, even though the thought of returning it stayed with me. After two and a half weeks I can say that I got used to it and quite like the shape of this mouse. The materials used seem to be of good quality. The sensor on this thing is amazing! I really love the way it tracks even when slightly lifting it off the pad. It glides easily and is precise. The shape of LMB and RMB is perfect for palm grip, good for fingertip grip and decent for claw grip. The scroll wheel is perfectly positioned, the rubber on it gives good grip, its feedback while scrolling is just perfect and the RGB lighting in it is a nice bonus. The logo also has RGB lighting and you can select the colour and/or effects for both of them or separately. The cable is long enough and it’s braided which should provide enough longevity. The only reason this mouse got 3 stars instead of 5 is that the clicking mechanism on the LMB (left mouse button) randomly becomes mushy instead of being responsive and “clicky”. My friend has the same problem on the RMB. I guess they got greedy and went for a cheaper part for that. Not exactly what I would expect from a mouse this expensive or, for that matter, from a company like Razer but they all do it at some level. You might not be so unlucky and get one that actually works the way it’s supposed to. Update: I think the left mouse button problem is solved. Haven’t experienced it in a while so I guess that all it needed was a bit of usage, kind of like a breaking in period. Something else I can add to this review is that I changed the mousepad (got the Razer Firefly Hard Surface as a birthday gift) and it greatly improved the tracking on this mouse. It’s also much easier to move it around on the Firefly, it’s almost like it glides freely on it. Another thing to mention is the two buttons on the side of the mouse which changed my view on mice in general as they’re a must-have, capable of simplifying any task.

Excellent mouse, must-have for lefties.
I bought this because I find it very annoying when there is no option in programs to switch the buttons over for left handers - forcing you to use the right click as your main button. This obviates that option as it's set up so that the left button is your main button anyway. This in itself, for me is worth the purchase. I also find it very pleasant to use. It has a nice feel to it, the buttons are light to touch but very responsive. The wheel in my old mouse was a little wild when scrolling, this one much more precise. The extra buttons are also very useful. They function as back and forward when browsing which is easy and I now use all the time and, better yet, you can macro them for games to obviate extra keyboard hotkeys. In sum, this is an excellent mouse and having a left-handed version makes it all the better.

Excellent left handed gaming mouse
Let me start by saying I have owned 2 of these mice for a total of about 3.5 years and I am on the whole very satisfied. This was my first experiment with left handed specific mice and now I don't think i could go back to using a traditional mouse. The feel of it is great, the buttons well positioned and it is as precise as you'll ever want. The only issue i had was that after a year on my first mouse, the left button started to deteriorate and began to register more than once click whenever I clicked it. However, Razer are excellent as a company and they provided me with a new one with no hassle after sending the damaged one back. Since then, I have had no problems with the second mouse. It may be a bit pricey but is well worth it for both comfort and ease of use. If you've never owned a left-handed mouse before and you play games often, this is your mouse.

Outstanding mouse - well worth the investment
I recently entered the video games industry and within 2 months started to get RSI at work. This prompted me to have a bit of an epiphany about how I'd only spent crap money on mice before, and that for someone so into games and computers, I really should invest a little bit more! For all you leftys out there, this is more or less the only left-handed ergonomic mouse that's out there (never mind a gaming grade one!). It is money well spent. It is a large mouse which completely fills your hand and allows your hand to assume a very comfortable 'palm style' grip. For gamers, you'll have to make your own decision as to whether you want this or another mouse which caters more to claw or fingertip grip. You could use claw with this, but the long buttons tend to suggest full on palm grip contact. I can honestly say that this has challenged my previous bad mouse use habits. I was using a claw grip for games and for office apps (where the base of the palm is in contact but the fingers are raise up in an arch, kind of like a claw - see what they did there?...), but this puts far more strain on your hand since it's in a constant state of tension. For long periods of work or game use, palm grip puts less strain on your wrist. It's also made me use the proper buttons! Having used computers for so long, I got used to using ambidextrous mice by using my index finger to operate both mouse buttons. The ergonomic shape of this mouse stops you doing that which, whilst a hindrance at first, I am getting used to. This can only result in better mouse use and less strain on your hand. The feet are nice on the bottom, the settings are totally configurable (5 buttons - 2 are on the inside step to be pressed with the joint or tip of your thumb) and your hand feels really at home on it. It also looks very pretty, but you can turn the lights off if they bother you. Finally, after many years of looking at wonderful looking mice that I then couldn't use because they were right-handed only, it gives me an great feeling of satisfaction to have a mouse that says, "Ha, up yours you right-handers!". Hope that helps. I would definitely spend the money on this. Why 4 stars? On my one the rear foot hasn't been fitted 100% okay, and so it catches on the material of my goliathus mouse mat. I'm sure this isn't common to all of them, because it's the tiniest of imperfections that's only exacerbated by having a material weave mouse mat. It also doesn't matter if I'm using the mouse properly and not pressing hard!

easy to get use to
Had this mouse since 2013, not the elite but the classic esports, recently had to purchase this as after nearly 5 years i got my first problem with it. Does some weird double clicking and grip under the mouse is worn where gliding across the mouse mat isn’t as smooth, but also my mouse mat was also old so that could play a part in that. I’ve played csgo since 2015 using this mouse everyday and DMing a lot and only recently had problems, this mouse lasts, easy to get use to, just enough buttons and great software, only problems i’ve had are due to old age and the mouse wheel sometimes to sensitive or not sensitive enough when jumping, but if you are new to PC gaming or just wanting a simple but professional mouse, this is the one for you. Just also note kennyS worlds best CSGO AWPer uses this exact mouse and many other pros do just in case my other points didn’t fully convince you, trust me it’s great price for practically one of the best gaming nice out there

My first left hand mouse
For years I have used right handed mice and suffered the wrist ache as a result, Lets face it paying extra for a left hand mouse is shameful to the manufacturers and an insult to us lefties. This is my first left hander and as soon as I put my hand on it, it felt great, like it belonged in my hand. The wheel can be a bit clunky when scrolling but it has a great tactile feel so no slipping under finger. The wheel button is positive and solid. The two thumb buttons could be a bit further forward (for people like me with big hands) but they to have a positive feel to them, Weighted just right, doesn't feel cheap and the curve of the mouse feels natural. Response is fantastic and smooth, great for gaming. The left and right buttons feel firm and positive. The cable is light and does not impede movement with a solid usb termination. Overall great mid range mouse. Only strange thing is the flashing/pulsing logo, my hand is over it most of the time so why bother?

Improvement to the original Deathadder
I had an original Deathadder mouse for 11 years and it still works great and if anything only needs a good clean. However, I decided with the mouse seemingly immune from dying it was time to upgrade of my own accord and I immediately opted for the newest version of the Deathader mouse. I never chose the newest Razer mouse the Viper, which has additional features such as optic buttons and a new cable braid that is supposed to glide very well. Instead I went straight for the Deathadder as I don't believe there is any other mouse out there with better ergonomics for my quite large hand. This Deathadder Elite is even better than the original that served me well for 11 years as it is better with a material that has a gripper matte finish. Additionally rubber textured grips have been added to the sides, the mouse wheel has been improved substantially with rubber grips, an additional two buttons have been added on the top to easily bind DPI settings on the fly and of course it features full Chroma support which looks great paired with the Huntsman keyboard. If this mouse lasts me even half as long as the last Deathadder I'll be extremely happy.

Long lasting, quality gaming mouse.
Not much to say really, I'm a razer fan boy so I'm biased. I actually bought this for my brother to replace the one he had that had been through the (e-)wars. But I also have one, which I bought in 2017 and gets plenty of use - still going strong, only slight issues are the rubber padding near the thumb came loose so I pulled it off as it was annoying - after cleaning out the gunk I don't miss it and the left click is abit looser than that it used to be so the button can move left to right but it doesn't affect use. The razer synapse software is really good once you set it up properly (i.a. having multiple profiles for different games that automatically select when you start the start)
