Mudder High Torque Quartz Clock Movement Mechanism Motor with 250 mm/ 9.8 inches Long Straight Hands (Silvery)

the style fits my home-made clock, and the silver color is what I needed. It's not too difficult to install, but the hands are flimsy, and the long one has a slight bend or wrinkle. the brushed metal is OK, but not perfect. As long as you don't look too close it looks just fine. As long as they keep the time accurately, I will probably keep these on the clock.

The only thing that I didn't like was the protective film was missing on the hands, and were a little scuffed, meaning that this was probably a returned item?

I used this clock mechanism to make this Disc-Brake clock (that is all wood). As with many of this kind of clock mechanism these hands are made of incredibly thin sheet metal (note unlike the listing these are just shiny bare metal with a clear coat rather than the white of the photo above. For my application I needed them red so some spray paint worked fine although that clear coat made it very hard to paint (I used some sandpaper to rough up the surface). As the hands were too long for this clock I simply cut them with a pair of tin-snips (probably could use heave scissors). I will note getting the knurled nut to secure the hands in place is tricky as it has a tendency to cross-thread so if it doesn't turn easily stop and back off or it will strip. Again this is a very inexpensive quartz mechanism and given how little it costs it's quite good, but it's no rolex...

I bought a clock that required assembling the hands on the clock and I ruined the hands which were flimsy. I ordered this item to replace the hands and it was easier to install than the hands included with the clock. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: after less than 4 months, this clock movement has died. It began losing time, so I assumed the battery was at fault; but no, with a fresh battery it got slower and slower until it no longer moves at all. I have a feeling that this mechanism is labeled as “high torque” without actually being capable of moving those long hands without straining to break. Too bad!ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have one of those giant "DIY" wall clocks, and the movement inside finally gave up. I knew I needed a high-torque mechanism to move the very long hands, so I gave this inexpensive motor a try. Although this movement comes with hands and other parts, I used only the black box with the motor and just one of the washer elements; I re-used my existing hands and decorative motor cover. I did really like the modern look of the hands with this movement, but they just weren’t long enough for my clock.Just like the original motor that came with my clock, this one was finicky to put together. If you don't get enough separation between the hands, they will bump into each other and not move properly around. The clock hands also need to be balanced, and light enough for the movement to work. Took a little time and patience, but I got mine assembled and back in place on the wall.

The hands were very big, bigger than I needed, but they were easy to trim to the length I wanted with small paramedic scissors. The smaller hands in some clock kits are too fragile, these were more robust. I was installing through a thin metal material so the shorter shaft length worked better than some of the long shaft kits - not all are the same - check before you order.

E’ il terzo che acquisto.Dura un anno, poi il meccanismo cede .Il meccanismo interno non supporta la coppia necessaria per il peso delle lancette anche se sono bilanciate !Per un anno nessun problema, poi inizia a a rimanere indietro, poi si ferma .Peccato perché e’ un prodotto che potrebbe dare soddisfazione .

This was a replacement for a clock that wouldn’t work anymore. It was a little confusing on how to install it as there are no instructions. I did figure it out and it works flawlessly.
