Good System
We bought this unit for our office. The system included one DVR with 1GB HHD and 4 5MP digital cameras. It was easy to set it up with an included mouse after connecting to a TV. The DVR picked up wireless cameras as it stated plug and play. We were happy about the wireless connection distance and the quality. We are planning to add 2 more cameras as this is a 8 channel DVR. If you are looking for a good wireless DVR system, this is a good choice. You don’t always have to buy big name product.

Sensitive Cameras
The software was a little frustrating to set up - I'm a seasoned tech that has experience in programming, repairs on pc's etc. so I can only imagine the frustration others might experience. A loop in downloading the software is ever present no matter where you search, but downloading is not the problem.Once past the connection problems, the cams were easy to install and I do like the swivel mounts that came with the cameras. My biggest problem is the sensitivity of the cams. They alarm out from fog, rain, etc. too easily so that the settings have to be so low that they do not pick up actual movement unless someone is in the field of view for some time and can be missed if they move quickly.Price is good with the HDD included so I can overlook some inefficiency. If you need serious surveillance, these may not be the best cameras, but at higher sensitivity settings, the alarms may annoy you and cost you a little more time reviewing the captures.

Easy Setup, Poor Video Quality, No 24hr Support
The Jousecu system does plug and play well with the provided cameras making it easy to setup. We tested it in a variety of situations and used our 4K monitor connected to its HDMI to view the images in 16:9 format at the highest resolution of the NVR and also connected to the internet and came away feeling a bit let down. The system has issues that would cause me to compare it to other systems in this price range before purchasing. Read on for our evaluation:The Good:-- PLUG AND PLAY!: The system boots up quickly, within about one minute, and has the cameras connected and broadcasting video on the monitor. No messing around trying to connect cameras.-- CORRECT TIME AND ZONE: The unit came up with the correct time and time zone, I assume, from its internet connection.-- DHCP LAN CONNECTED: My router assigned an IP address, and the unit successfully connected to my LAN.-- CAMERAS HAVE RJ45: If one chooses, the cameras can be wired to the LAN vs. wireless.-- CAMERA ACTIVITY LIGHT: A nice and important feature is the small blinking light on the RJ45 notifying of network activity. This light blinks even when connected wirelessly. This is a great feature for troubleshooting a network connection. Also, when booting up, the camera shines its lights to provide positive feedback-- APP WORKED:The phone to view the system remotely came up quickly, and I was able to connect the app and view video from the phone network (or when not connected over the LAN).-- GOOD WiFi RANGE: With the camera positioned about 30feet from the NVR and through 2 house walls, there was a connection, but the strength of which was not provided by the NVR.-- SIMPLE USER INTERFACE: The user interface is simple and easy to use and perhaps too simple or dumbed-down if you are a more sophisticated user of this system.-- GOOD CAMERA POSITIONING: The cameras are easily mounted and have good positioning and knob lock into place. The Bad:-- AVERAGE DISPLAY QUALITY: While the color was OK (see pictures), the display fidelity was average with jagged edges and breathing or regular noise blooms. Adequate for a home security system but not great.-- POOR DYNAMIC RANGE: Any bright areas of sun are almost entirely washed out. Note the attached daytime picture. The flagstone sidewalk looks almost entirely one gray color.-- JITTERY DISPLAY WITH MOVEMENT: The display updates slowly and provides a very jittery display whenever there is movement or something is moving on the display.-- NO WiFI STRENGTH PROVIDED: The NVR provides no indication of WiFi strength, which is an essential feature to best locate the cameras and prevent poor quality connection.-- NO INTERNET ACCESS: There was no test or indication the unit was connected to the internet.-- NO FIRMWARE UPGRADE: The upgrade feature did not work and provided no feedback on whether the current firmware was current or needed an update.-- NO NVR CONNECTION TO APP: When attempting to connect directly to the NVR on board app via its IP address, the NVR would not connect, claiming it could only work with older obsolete browsers.I tried Firefox., an old Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge, where all had NVR replies that it would not work as these browsers were too new. Very amazing the designer of the NVR firmware would allow this.-- NO SUPPORT:There is no website for Jousecu.com.Only an email is provided stating 24 hr response. I emailed the seller to find out how to upgrade the firmware, and so much for the 24-hour response, nothing hear back.-- APP HAS ADVERTS: You will have to deal with the frequent ads when using the app, including confusing full-page ads when you first turn the app on, which hides the fact you are even using an NVR app.-- 4:3 SNAPSHOTS: The snapshots are only in 4:3 format, not the as displayed 16:9 format..Conclusion: The Jousecu system is easy to setup, bu I would shop and compare before selecting this product. It provides the basics, but if you want good images and support, you should shop around.
